Supplies Needed:
• Aleene’s Fabric Fusion or Liquid Fusion
• Colored taco costume
• Colored gemstones, craft mirror pieces, rhinestones
Serve up some serious sparkle in this nacho average taco costume! The shimmery shell is packed with layers of colorful, glittery toppings for a look that’s equal parts crafty, campy, and totally crave-worthy. This dazzling DIY is ready to steal the spotlight at any Halloween celebration.
Step 1: Start with a Plain Taco Costume
Begin with a plain taco costume as your base. Lay it flat on a clean work surface so you can see the shell and all the toppings, then decide which areas could use extra sparkle.
Step 2: Plan Your Bling
Arrange rhinestones, gems, or other fabric-safe embellishments on the costume before gluing. Follow the taco’s shapes and colors, or create your own bold pattern to make every topping pop.
Step 3: Glue on the Sparkle
Working in small sections, use glue to attach each embellishment. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of each piece, press it firmly onto the costume, and continue until your taco has all the bling you want. Pro tip: for the smaller gemstones you can apply a small area of glue directly onto the costume and place the embellishments into the glue rather than applying to each individual gemstone.
Step 4: Let It Dry and Shine
Leave the costume flat and allow the glue to dry completely according to the package directions. Once everything is secure, slip it on and get ready to serve a dazzling taco look!
