How to make a Donut Tote with Puffy Paint

How to make a Donut Tote with Puffy Paint

Sweeten your accessories with a cute donut tote that's easy to make and easy on the eyes! Craft Box Girls will show you how to add a delectable touch to a simple tote bag using felt, Puffy Paint and Aleene's Fabric Fusion. What You Need Puffy 3D Paint Aleene's Fabric Fusion Tote bag Felt in desired colors Scissors Letter stencils Pencil Trim in desired color Scratch paper Tape Circular items for tracing Step 1 For this easy project, you don't need to track down a special pattern — you can make a circle with a center cutout by tracing any circular items onto a piece of scratch paper and cutting it out. For the frosting, use whatever circular item you traced for the center of the donut, and just make a wavy line for the outer edges of the frosting. Step 2 Once you have your patterns created, use a pencil to trace them onto felt, then cut out. Iron your tote so it's nice and smooth before gluing the pieces in place. Step 3 Use Fabric Fusion to glue your large circle onto the center of your tote, then glue the frosting piece on top of the circle. Step 4 Next decide what you want your tote quote to say and cut out the letter stencils needed. Step 5 Arrange the letter stencils around the donut and tape down to help hold in place. Step 6 Use your pencil to lightly trace the letters onto the tote bag, using the stencils as a guide. Step 7 Remove the letter stencils and get ready to paint! Step 8 Working from the top of the tote down (so you don't run the risk of smearing paint by working in different directions), outline your lettering and donut with Puffy Paints in whatever colors you like! Step 9 Don't forget to add sprinkles to your donut! Step 10 Add a finishing touch to your tote by gluing vibrant trim across the top edge. Let the tote dry flat until the glue and paint are completely dry. Step 11 Is anyone else craving something sweet right now?

Floral Handmade Earrings with Puff Paint

Floral Handmade Earrings with Puff Paint

When you can’t find the perfect pair of earrings, make them! This tutorial from Oh Yay Studio will show you how to craft your own floral handmade earrings with polymer clay and Tulip Puff Paints. This super simple statement jewelry project is perfect for spring— step outside and get inspired by the fresh flowers, then use Puff Paints to create pretty, dimensional patterns! What you need: Tulip Puff Paints Polymer clay Earring hooks and jump rings Pliers Craft knife Straight pins Pencil Paper towel Step 1 Cut DIY earring shapes from polymer clay Craft your own statement jewelry from polymer clay! For this project, Oh Yay Studio chose to roll out the clay approximately ¼” thick and used small molds to cut out shapes. Use a straight pin to poke a hole at the top of the handmade earrings for the jump rings. Follow the packaging instructions for baking the clay, and remember to flip the earrings halfway through baking to ensure they bake as flat as possible! Step 2 Use a Pencil to Outline your Designs Once your handmade earrings have finished baking and cooled completely, use a pencil to lightly map out your designs. Try making colorful squiggles, fun florals, or any other patterns that you can bring to life with Puff Paints! Step 3 Paint Designs with Puff Paints Now it’s time to make your statement jewelry pop with Puff Paint! Squeeze the Puff Paints directly onto your handmade earrings, following the outlines you drew with pencil. Use the tip of a straight pin to drag the paint and create crisp lines or fine details. A damp paper towel can be used to clean up any mistakes. Step 4 Allow Puff Paints to Dry Completely Repeat this process until you’ve painted all your handmade earrings! Once you’re done painting, set the earrings aside to dry completely. Step 5 Add Jump Rings and Hooks to DIY Earrings Use pliers to add jump rings and hooks to your handmade earrings. Wear your DIY statement jewelry to add a bold pop of color to any outfit! Will you be making your own handmade earrings and other statement jewelry with Puff Paints? Puffy Paint DIY Phone Cases

Puffy Paint DIY Phone Cases

Sometimes it’s fun to change up your phone case to match your style, mood or outfit. But why break the bank buying an expensive new phone case, when you can make your own. Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint is an awesome option for creating beautiful DIY phone case designs. One of the things I love most about using dimensional fabric paints for crafting new phone cases is that you can make mistakes and it doesn’t matter! If you make a mistake, wait until the paint is completely dry and then use a toothpick to help peel off the design mistake. Below are three great designs ideas using Dimensional Fabric Paint to help get your creativity flowing. What you need: Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint in a variety of colors. I also used the metallic gold color for accents on one of the cases. Phone Cases - iPhone cases in both white and clear. You can also use a color option if you prefer. Toothpicks Butterfly Design Start with a clear phone case. Outline a butterfly design using white dimensional fabric paint. In rainbow order, start with red on the far side of each wing and create a line of color from the top to bottom on the wing. Add each additional color. As you add more colors, you can make your lines thicker or thinner, depending on how much room you have left. To create the petal design within each wing, use a toothpick and drag a petal- shaped line to the upper corner of the wing. Wiping off the toothpick each time, repeat the same shaped line over and over until the wing is filled. Repeat the above two steps on each wing. Add butterfly antennae and body dots with Gold Metallic Dimensional Paint. Start with a white phone case. You can create one large mandala design or smaller mandala style designs. I prefer smaller mandala designs because when you see them all together the design looks cleaner. With a larger design, mistakes are easier to notice. This type of design would also be beautiful on a colored phone case, using White Dimensional Fabric Paint for the design. Dotted Design Choose a variety of dimensional fabric paint colors (I used 9 different colors). The variety of colors will help give the phone case more dimension. Start with the first color at the top of the phone case and add both larger and small dots. With the second color, try to mix in some of the colored dots within the pattern created by the first color. Continue the steps above down with each color as you move to the bottom of the case. I hope these designs have inspired you to make your own DIY phone cases. You can even mix several of these design ideas together to create new designs. Add dots as borders, create mandala designs around the butterfly or incorporate all three designs into one to make your own customized phone case.

Modern Puffy Paint Easter Eggs

Modern Puffy Paint Easter Eggs

This year, get a little more creative with your Easter eggs. Of course you can always dye them, but have you ever gone a step further and designed them with Puffy paint? Well you’re about to! Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint makes it fun and easy to decorate Easter Eggs in ways you never thought before. Try swirls, stripes, polka dots, monograms and so much more! Let’s get started! What you need: Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint (in Neon colors) Eggs Paper towels First, clean the eggs or hard boil them. Then use food coloring or store bought egg dye and dye the eggs in desired colors. Use the neon dimensional fabric paint to create designs all your own on the eggs. Once you’re done, let the eggs dry. Now you have colorful, creative eggs that the Easter Bunny will be jealous of.
