How to DIY Monochrome Magic Pumpkin Purses
Turn classic orange plastic-handled pumpkins into chic, monotone statement purses with just a few colorful craft supplies! A coat of COLORSHOT gives each pumpkin a sleek, head-to-toe hue, while Tulip Puff Paint and sparkling gems add playful texture and plenty of bling. Finish with a coordinating fabric strap, and these trick-or-treat favorites are ready to carry from costume parties to Halloween outings! Supplies Needed: COLORSHOT Premium Fabric Paints Tulip Puff Paints Liquid Fusion Performance Adhesive Aleene’s Spray Sealer in finish of choice Plastic pumpkin buckets Embellishments like rhinestones, crystals and colored gems Fabric straps Carabiners Plastic table cover Step 1: Prep the pumpkins Cover your work surface with a plastic table cover. Remove any tags, make sure the plastic pumpkin containers are clean and dry, and keep the lids and handles in place so every visible surface can be transformed into one seamless color. Step 2: Spray on a monotone makeover In a well-ventilated area, spray the pumpkin, lid and plastic handle with your chosen COLORSHOT paint color. Apply several light, even coats for smooth coverage, allowing each coat to dry before adding the next. Let the painted pumpkin dry completely. Finish with an Aleene’s Sealer in finish of choice. Let dry completely. Step 3: Add dimensional details Use Tulip Puff Paint in a coordinating shade to trace the pumpkin’s grooves, outline the face or create dots, swirls and other raised accents. Keep the design tone-on-tone for a stylish monotone finish, then allow the paint to dry completely. Step 4: Bring on the bling Plan your embellishment placement, then use Liquid Fusion Performance Adhesive to attach rhinestones, crystals and colored gems. Cluster them around the eyes, scatter them across the surface or follow the raised paint details for extra sparkle. Let the adhesive cure completely. Step 5: Attach the purse strap Remove original plastic handle from pumpkin. Clip a carabiner onto each side of the pumpkin’s handle, then attach the ends of the fabric strap. Adjust the strap to your preferred length, check that every connection is secure and get ready to show off your one-of-a-kind pumpkin purse! How are you decorating your Halloween accessories? Create this simple Boo pumpkin with dots all over your pumpkin! The dot design is so easy to make! You could also do initials or just dots without the words. Another option is to do giant dots! This pumpkin was created layer rings of paint all over! This pumpkin used the "natural" glow dimensional paint and went wild with geometric designs allover. Loved how brightly it glows! We love how these pumpkins were created. Very abstract and fun on the two on left and right. And the skull pumpkin is a funky idea for your Day of the Dead festivities! This pumpkin will make you go EEEK! when the lights are turned off. Love how the colors twist up the stem too! This monogram pumpkin is so easy to make! All you need to do is place a sticker down on the pumpkin and dot around it with the glow paint! You can make a personalized one for every family member or spell out a phrase with several pumpkins. This is the ultimate glow pumpkin by Jaderbomb and so easy to make! You simply squeeze the paint along the indents of the pumpkin in stripes! Here's a slight variation of the one above! Supplies Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color, Silver Tablecoth Tape Freezer paper Steps: Step 1: Wash and dry your shirt without fabric softener before you start your project. Step 3: After you've created a design you like, tape paper towels around the rest of your shirt to protect it from potential overspray. Step 4: Spray several light coats of ColorShot spray over your design, letting each coat dry a few minutes before adding another. Step 5: Once you're happy with your paint coverage, remove the strips of tape and let your shirt dry completely. See how easy it is to make something so chic? DIY Dog Costume: No-Sew Burger with Felt Glue
If you’re like us you love dressing up your dogs for Halloween with DIY dog costumes! Get your pets in on the spooky season festivities with an adorable no-sew burger costume! This tutorial from Oh Yay Studio will show you how to make a tasty-looking hamburger costume for your pets using Aleene’s Felt & Foam Tacky Glue. Halloween has never looked so cute! What you need: Aleene’s Felt & Foam Tacky Glue 1 round foam ball Felt in “burger” colors (tan, white, green, red, yellow) Scissors Knife Paintbrush Brown paint Elastic or ribbon Straight pins (optional) Step 1 Use knife to cut your foam ball into 4 pieces for this burger costume. The top rounded piece will be the top bun, the second piece will be the patty, third will be the bottom bun. Set aside the bottom rounded piece for another craft project! Step 2 Cut a circle of tan felt to fit the top rounded piece, leaving approximately 3 inches around the edges to fold to the underside. Step 3 Use Aleenes Felt & Foam Tacky Glue to glue the felt in place. Optionally, you can secure the felt in place temporarily with straight pins while the glue dries. You'll want the felt to be nice and taut as to eliminate any creases in your DIY dog costume! Step 4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the third piece of your foam ball to create the bottom bun. Step 5 This classic burger costume would not be complete without sesame seeds on the bun! Use scissors to cut out seeds from white felt and glue to the top bun. Step 6 Next, you’ll want to create a juicy patty for your dog’s burger costume! Take the second piece of the foam ball and paint all sides brown. Add extra details, such as grill marks and shading, for a more realistic patty. Set aside to dry completely. Step 7 While the patty is drying, cut some felt to create toppings for your DIY dog costume. For this project, Oh Yay Studio made lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and cheese. Get creative with the details to make a one-of-a-kind burger costume for your pup! Try making felt onions, mushrooms, bacon, or any other combination of condiments and toppings! Step 8 Once the paint and glue have dried, it's time to start assembling your dogs burger costume! Remove any pins and begin layering your burger. Start with the bottom bun, then glue down your lettuce, patty, cheese, tomatoes, pickles, and any other toppings. Lastly, glue down the top bun and squeeze the burger together to ensure everything is properly adhered. Step 9 Once the burger costume has set, add elastic or ribbon to the bottom to fit your dog's body. Secure with glue and allow to dry completely. Step 10 Its finally time to dress up your pup! Be sure to snap some photos of this adorable DIY dog costume before the Halloween festivities begin. Will you be creating a burger costume for your furry friends this Halloween with Aleenes? How To Use Spray Paint For Your Spring Crafts
Is anyone else getting excited for spring? We’re ready for some extra sunshine and rainbows, so we’re making our own to tide us over til the real deal is in full effect. Most of us have been working on crafts and home décor projects in the past year, so if you have some extra COLORSHOT Spray Paints left over, we have a new spring craft for you! At Charlotte’s House will show you how to use spray paint to brighten things up around your house with this colorful rainbow pottery DIY using thrifted vases. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints in desired colors - Ceramic vases in various sizes and shapes - Protective surface cover - Tools/products to remove labels (if needed) This spring craft is the perfect way to upcycle old vases you have stashed in your cabinet, or vases you can find super cheap thrift shopping. If you picked your vases up in a store, make sure to remove any labels or price stickers and clean the vases to remove dust and prints. Working in a well-ventilated area, cover your work surface to protect it, then spray several light coats of paint onto your vases/ceramicware instead of one heavy coat. This will help prevent the paint from dripping or pooling. Tip: don’t paint the insides of the vases if you plan on using them to display real flowers or plants that need water. Once you’re happy with your spray paint coverage, let everything dry completely. For this spring craft, you’ll want to use lots of bright colors! You can go with a whole spectrum of color or variations of blue, green or any of your favorite shades for a more monochromatic look. Now that you know how to use spray paint on glass & ceramics, get creative and have fun making your own decorative spring arrangement! You can display your rainbow vases on a shelf like At Charlotte’s House, or fill them with plants and flowers if you’re looking for a vibrant and functional set of vases. What other spring crafts are you making with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints? Share with us on social by tagging us @mycolorshot!
BEYOU TIE-DYE KIT ( General Instructions )
Read through all directions before beginning. Supplies Natural fiber fabric (light color) – silk, wool, rayon, cotton Plastic trash bags to cover work surface Plastic bag or plastic wrap Step 1 – Set Up Work Surface Protect work surface with plastic trash bags. Cover with a layer of paper towels. Step 2 – Prewash Fabric Prewash fabric to remove sizing. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheet. Choose desired technique. If using dry technique, dry fabric in dryer. If using wet technique, use directly from washer. Step 3 – Prepare Fabric If using a flat method of dyeing, place plastic wrap or trash bag between layers of fabric to keep dye from seeping through to other side. Step 4 – Mix Dye Wearing protective gloves, add water to dye bottle and fill to the neck. Replace cap tightly. Shake until dye is dissolved. Use full-strength for intense colors. For a lighter shade of color, add more water using extra bottle if needed. Apply dye within 24 hours after mixing. Note: Dye left unapplied after 24 hours will begin to lose concentration and will result in noticeably weaker color intensity. Do not add water to dye until you are prepared to apply it. Step 5 – Dye Fabric Apply dye on fabric, checking to make sure dye has penetrated into folds. Do not over-saturate fabric. If dye is applied too close together, the colors may become muddy. Step 6 – Wrap, Let Set, Rinse Cover dyed fabric with plastic wrap to keep damp. Let set 6–8 hours or longer for most intense colors. Rinse until water is clear. Cut rubber bands if used. Fill washer to large load setting with hottest water suitable for fabric and a small amount of laundry soap. Wash and dry separately for the first few times. Hints Always wear gloves when working with dyes Do not allow dyed fabric to rest wet on other items Make sure excess dye dust is removed from work area Create new colors by blending dyes
