Tie-Dye Maxi Dress for Summer

A good maxi dress is a summertime staple, so add some sunny tie-dye color to your summer wardrobe with the Tulip Sunshine One-Step Tie-Dye Kit! This tutorial from Pretty Life Girls will show you how easy it is to repurpose and upcycle a plain white dress with maximalist tie-dye designs. This vibrant tie-dye outfit will be your new favorite summer statement dress! Step 1: Prepare materials Before you get started on this tie-dye maxi dress DIY, prewash your summer maxi dress and prepare the tie-dye solutions according to package instructions. This project uses the Tulip Sunshine One-Step Tie-Dye Kit for a bright, summery palette! Step 2: Fold and bind Lay your damp summer maxi dress flat and bunch the fabric together vertically. Use rubber bands to create sections and secure the fabric. Step 3: Apply dyes It’s time to tie-dye your summer maxi dress! Place the fabric onto a wire rack over a sheet tray or tub to catch excess dye. Apply dye to the fabric. Use gloved hands to work the dyes into the fabric, checking to ensure the dyes have penetrated the folds. Flip your tie-dye maxi dress and apply dye to the backside so that the fabric is fully saturated with dye. Step 4: Wrap in plastic and repeat Wrap the dyed fabric with plastic wrap before you move on to the next color. This will ensure your project stays damp as you work and will minimize colors bleeding into their adjacent sections. For this project, Pretty Life Girls played with color blocking to create bold, maximalist designs on their tie-dye maxi dress! Repeat this process until your maxi dress is full of beautiful tie-dye colors! Step 5: Wrap in plastic let set Once you’re finished applying the dyes to your tie-dye maxi dress, cover the last section of fabric in plastic wrap. Lay your dyed fabric into a spiral and allow to set for 6-8 hours. Want to finish your project faster? Skip ahead to the next step! For a faster take on tie dye, place your tie-dye maxi dress into a Two-Minute Tie-Dye Container! This patent-pending process features specially made reusable microwaveable containers designed specifically for use with any Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye Kit to make tie-dye magic in just minutes. The Two-Minute Tie-Dye Container can only be used with 100% cotton fabrics with no metal details or embellishments. Follow all safety procedures during use. Step 7: Rinse, wash, dry, and reveal! DIY Tropical Party Décor with Spray Paint

DIY Tropical Party Décor with Spray Paint

Put yourself into a summer state of mind with DIY tropical party décor! Tropical décor is a fun way to add lush designs and vibrant color to summer pool parties, backyard barbecues, birthday celebrations, and more. Learn how to use COLORSHOT to transform your next party into a colorful luau with this tutorial from Oh Yay Studio! What you need: COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints (This project uses Cosmo, Summer Pedicure, Orange Slice, Treasure Chest, Island Girl, Mermaid, Scuba, Cash, With a Twist, and Lucky Penny) COLORSHOT White Primer Cardboard Pencil Glue Measuring tape Scissors or box cutter Faux tropical leaves Drop cloth Balloon archCut tree trunk from cardboard Start this tropical party décor DIY by creating a palm tree trunk from cardboard. Find the middle of your piece of cardboard and mark the center axis with a pencil. Measure 24” across the bottom (left to right), 5 feet up (top to bottom) and 6 inches at the top (left to right). Measure and mark 8” up from the center of the 24” base. Mark 12” (from left to right) along that 8” center line. Connect the outside point of the 12” (from step c) to the 24” (in step b) from top to bottom in a diagonal line. Draw a long diagonal line from the 12” (from step c) to the 6” (in step b) from top to bottom. Finally, cut out your cardboard tree trunk. Once cut, trace this trunk onto another piece of cardboard so that you are left with 2 identical cardboard tree trunks. Notch your tree trunks halfway by cutting out 2 strips down the center of the tree trunks from top to bottom. This is so that your tree trunks can slide in and fit together. Cut palm leaves from cardboard Next, cut out the palm tree leaves for your tropical party décor. Cut out oblong shapes with a pointed tip at one end and a straight edge on the other. You’ll need to create at least 5 of these leaf shapes, or more for a fuller tree. Cut 5-7 notches in your leaves to make them look more like palm branch leaves. Prime and spray paint the cardboard leaves Place your cardboard palm leaves and tree trunk onto a drop cloth or other protective surface cover in a well-ventilated area and get ready to paint! Prime both sides of the cardboard pieces with COLORSHOT White Primer and allow to dry completely. Create a two-toned look for your tropical party décor by spray painting half of each leaf with Cash and the other With a Twist. Spray paint the tree trunk with Lucky Penny for a lovely rose gold metallic base! Prime and spray paint the cardboard leaves Oh Yay Studio also created a colorful balloon arch with matching leaves for her tropical party décor! Place faux tropical leaves onto your drop cloth, then prime and paint with your desired colors. For this project, we used Cosmo, Summer Pedicure, Orange Slice, Treasure Chest, Island Girl, Mermaid, and Scuba to make super colorful leaves! Prime and spray paint the cardboard leaves It’s time to assemble your tropical party décor! Cut a circle about 7” in diameter glue a 3” strip of cardboard around the outer edge. You can spray paint this piece as well, but it will mostly be hidden by the cardboard leaves. Glue the circle to the top of the tree trunk and cut slits into the leaves so that they can slide into the side walls. Continue assembling the leaves to fill your cardboard palm tree. Tropical party décor display Carefully place the spray-painted leaves into your balloon arch and display your DIY tropical party décor! These lush decorations look perfect next to a dessert table full of summer sweets!Get ready for summer with COLORSHOT! Will you be making your own tropical party décor with spray paint? Spring into the Easter season with a cute new craft! Spruce up your kids’ Easter baskets this year with this super simple tutorial from Oh Yay Studio. This easy flower craft is a great way to add a custom touch to your Easter goodies! What you need: Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Glue Felt, assorted spring colors Pencil + scrap paper Wooden skewer Easter basket Scissors Step 1 Step 1: Cut textured spirals to create felt flowers Pick out a few colors and use scissors to cut out your felt flowers and foliage. Create flowers by cutting a circle out of the felt, then cut a spiral inward. Get creative and add texture to your felt flower petals by cutting the outer edge to be wavy, scalloped, fringed, or extra bumpy! If desired, cut fine fringes into a strip of felt, leaving the bottom edge intact, to create stamens for your flowers. Step 2 Step 2: Apply fabric glue and roll felt creating flowers Run a bead of Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Felt Adhesive along the straight edge of the spiral of your flowers. Starting at the center, roll the felt into a spiral to create blooming felt flowers! Do the same for any stamens and glue to the center of the flower to create extra texture. Repeat this process with until you have a beautiful bouquet of felt flowers! Step 3 Step 3: Add dimension by pinching felt together Add dimension to any felt leaves by applying a bead of glue at the bottom and pinching to create a fold. This step is optional, but it adds so much more life to this felt flower craft! Step 4 Step 4: Create pennants for DIY Easter basket While your felt flowers are drying, start creating some personalized pennants! Cut an elongated triangle out of felt, then use a pencil and scrap paper to sketch out the measurements of each letter of your little ones’ names. Apply glue to the back of each letter and press onto the pennant to secure. Glue a skewer or wooden dowel to the back of the pennant along the short edge, then fold the felt over to wrap around the skewer. Customize your pennants with any additional embellishments as desired. Step 5 Step 5: Glue felt flowers onto baskets Now it’s time to adorn your DIY Easter basket! Map out the placement of felt flowers before you start gluing them down. Once you’ve decided what goes where, apply a bit of glue to the back of each flower and press into place. Have fun with the flower placement to make a truly unique DIY Easter basket! Step 6 Step 6: Fill DIY Easter baskets with goodies Once all the felt flowers are applied, allow your DIY Easter basket to dry completely before filling with eggs and other Easter goodies. Place the personalized pennant in the basket and get ready to gift your kids an adorable Easter basket that they’ll never forget! Valentine's Day Party Ideas with COLORSHOT

Do you love everything about love? Do you love any excuse to throw a party - especially a party about love?! Perfect, then keep reading this post because it's right up your alley. Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and whether you're celebrating with your one and only or the group of people you heart most on this planet, these Valentine's Day party ideas from our friends over at Beijos Events have us swooning. Why go out and deal with 5,000 other people, over-priced meals and never enough wine when you can stay in and throw an intimate little shindig that's better than any restaurant setting, especially when you have COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints on hand? Check out these decor ideas you can make in no time with love-at-first-sight effects! What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints (shown here: Stiletto, Cosmo, Farmer's Daughter, Marshmallow) - Chairs - Valentine's Day themed balloons - Charger plates First things first, you're going to want to choose your color palette. COLORSHOT Stiletto, Cosmo, Farmer's Daughter and Marshmallow make a lovely traditional Valentine's Day palette, but feel free to experiment and have fun with it! Maybe you're throwing an anti-Valentine's Day party with shades of black (we see your red heart and we want it painted black ...). Whatever colors you choose, they're going to look amazing. Have you ever thought of spray painting balloons? The result is so fab, and it's such an easy, affordable way to add vibrant pops of color and coordinate your decor with your overall theme. Speaking of coordinating your decor to your theme ... how about matching your chairs to your balloons?! We are so loving this ombre effect Beijos created throughout their entire party, even down to the cuisine! The great thing about spray painting your decor is that you can be sure it totally matches. (Isn't it annoying when your shades don't match exactly? Or is that just us?) Isn't this the most heart-pounding, stunning shade of red you've ever seen? So perfect for a chair, if we do say so ourselves. Of course, Farmer's Daughter is just as perfect. Basically all COLORSHOT colors are. You can make your chairs all one color or you can make each one a different color like Beijos did. (We're digging their use of LOTS of color!) Let's talk table settings for a sec. How beautiful are these place settings? You can add floral centerpieces, matching candies and even stemware in your color palette. Tip: Don't spend top dollar on dinner chargers ... head to the dollar store instead and pick up what you need, then spray paint them to enhance your table settings! For a pretty shade of gold, try COLORSHOT First Million or Treasure Chest for a brighter yellow gold. Seriously, how can you not love a party table this pretty? Happy Valentine's Day from COLORSHOT! However you're celebrating this year, we hope it's doing something that makes your heart happy (like using COLORSHOT for all of your projects).

Tulip Valentine Tie-Dye Quote Art Tee

Valentine Reverse Tie-Dye Quote Art Tee

Whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day with your significant other, your gal pals, or the most fantastic person you know - YOU - this custom Valentine's Day Quote Art T-shirt is the perfect tee to wear when Cupid gets out his bow and arrow. (Whether you decide to run towards his arrow or away from it is entirely up to you. We're not judging.) Make it clear who your true love is (can we say tacos, tacos and MORE TACOS?!) with the cool effects of the Tulip® Reverse Tie-Dye Kit and clever quote art made easy with Tulip® Fabric Paint Markers. Get the tutorial from Pretty Life Girls and get ready to get your grub on in style this Valentine's Day. What you need: - Tulip Reverse Tie-Dye Kit - Tuip 1-Color Fuchsia Dye Kit - Tulip Fabric Paint Markers - Black cotton T-shirt - Bucket or sink - Letter stencils - Iron - Thin cloth - T-shirt form/cardboard To prep your shirt for adding Color Changer from the Reverse Tie-Dye Kit, first twist or fold it according to your favorite tie-dye technique. For this shirt, Pretty Life Girls used the spiral tie-dye pattern, pinching the shirt fabric in the center and twisting the entire shirt into a spiral. Bind the shirt with rubber bands (using at least three to hold in place for the spiral technique). Place the bound shirt into a bucket or sink, then prepare and apply the Color Changer to your shirt according to the kit instructions. Let the Color Changer process on the shirt until your desired look has been achieved, then cut off the rubber bands and immediately rinse/launder according to instructions. If you want to add a pop of color to your shirt, now's the time! Leave your shirt damp after rinsing/washing, then mix your fuchsia (or desired) Tulip tie-dye according to instructions. You can place your shirt crumpled up in the bucket or laying flat on a covered work surface before applying dye; there's no wrong way to tie dye! Add your dye to your liking over the shirt, then let it process for the time recommended in the instructions. After the dye has set, wash and dry your shirt and you're ready for your quote art! And maybe a snack. (Mmmmm ... tacos ....) Tulip Fabric Paint Markers work on dark fabrics too, so get out your stencils and your Paint Markers and get ready to add some quote art! (We recommend placing a shirt form or piece of cardboard in between the layers of your shirt to prevent any paint from accidentally soaking through to the back of the shirt). Place your letter stencil on your shirt and use the white Paint Marker to color in the lettering. Remove the stencil and let the paint dry. Heat your iron to the hottest setting (no steam) and place a thin cloth over the top of the lettering. Iron for 60 seconds to heat set the ink. Look who's ready for Valentine's Day! But more importantly, who's ready for tacos???

Galentine's Day Conversation Heart Boxes

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays; I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it! I love Valentine's Day because I can get crafty and give sweet little gifts to my BFFs. What you need: -Tulip Puff Paint in Red-Heart-shaped boxes-Acrylic paints-Pencil/marker-Paintbrush Start by basecoating the heart-shaped boxes with paint; I chose soft colors like pink, lavender and blue but your color scheme is totally up to you! And have fun getting creative with your quotes! Tip: to make it easier, use a marker or pencil to sketch your designs onto the box before adding Dimensional Paint. I first used a paintbrush to fill in the design on the box with Red Puff Paint and once that dried, I used the Dimensional Paint out of the bottle to trace around each letter. I love how it gives a 3D effect! Let it dry overnight. How cute are these boxes?! Just add candy or cute little gifts inside and give them to your favorite gal pals to celebrate each other this Valentine's Day.
