Chair Makeover With Spray Paint
Chairs can be expensive, even when you buy them on discount. If you're like us and you'd prefer to spend your money on other things - like shoes or vacationing on a beach somewhere - then pull up a chair (pun intended) and keep reading this post. Because you can totally give your old set of chairs, or some awesome thrift or yard sale finds with potential - a makeover with COLORSHOT! And with so many color options to choose from, you can match them to any color scheme in your space. You'll spend just a few dollars on COLORSHOT, you'll have fresh new chairs, and you can spend the rest of your budget on a plane ticket to a tropical location with a lot of sun and even more pina coladas. PS. For all of our world travelers out there, THIS is the COLORSHOT color for you! What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Summer Pedicure and Marshmallow) - Chairs (plastic, wood or metal) - Painter's tape - Protective plastic cover First choose your color palette. For an ombre look like we created, you'll want to select colors that blend nicely together; avoid any color combinations that result in muddy effects. We ended up just going with Summer Pedicure and Marshmallow for our chairs, but you could absolutely throw in a third color like Orange Slice if you want more color on your chairs. Make sure your chair legs are clean and dry. If your chair legs are a shiny metal, we recommend lightly sanding with a rough sandpaper or steel wool, then using a spray primer as a base before adding color. Use painter's tape to seal off the portion of the chair legs you aren't going to paint. Place chairs over a plastic surface cover to protect your space, and you might even want to cover your chairs to protect from any overspray. For these chairs, we used COLORSHOT Marshmallow as a base color, spraying all the way up to the taped points. Spray at least two coats, letting dry in between coats. Next we sprayed Summer Pedicure, starting at the very bottom of the legs and getting lighter with our application toward the taped mark. We left some white at the top of each leg for a true ombre look. Let the first coat of color dry then add another coat, again creating more opaque coverage at the very bottom. Let dry completely. Now your chairs are ready to show off to all of your friends ... you have a perfect excuse to throw a dinner party ... or play musical chairs if you feel so inclined.
Office Art with Matching Frames
Sometimes we all need a little reminder of how fabulous and hardworking we are. Beautiful art with inspirational quotes in your office space is a great way to remind yourself on the daily, especially when the grind gets tough. Part of having art you want to look at is framing it in beautiful frames. We know frames can be pricey, but not when you have COLORSHOT in your corner! Spray paint used or discount frames to look like new for quote art that keeps you motivated and on budget. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Smoke & Mirrors, Island Girl, Bubble Bath and Scuba) - Metal art frames Make sure your frame is clean and free of any dust. As with all spray paint projects, you'll want to work in a well-ventilated area. Remove artwork and backing from frames and place frames on a covered work surface. Spray several light coats of color onto frames, letting dry in between coats. Who wouldn't want to work in this office space?!
DIY Matching Desk Accessories
Do mismatched items stress you out? Does color-coordination make you one of the happiest people alive? Are you more productive at work when your stapler matches your tape dispenser? We're of the opinion that beautiful, organized spaces help inspire our motivation and creativity, and we can't think of one place more beneficial to have organized and beautiful than our office! Fill your work space with your favorite colors to help make it a place you want to spend time in ... right down to your desk accessories, every bit helps! Before you head out on the hunt for everything matching, just grab a can or two of COLORSHOT and spray paint your existing desk accessories for a quick, easy and chic way to upgrade to your work tools. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Island Girl, Scuba, Marshmallow and Smoke & Mirrors) - Metal desk accessories (stapler, tape dispenser, binder clips, scissors, etc.) - File holder Make sure your desk accessories are clean and free of dust. Work in a well-ventilated area and cover your work space to protect from overspray. Mask off any portions of the accessories you don't want painted with painter's tape. Spray several light coats of spray paint onto the accessory, letting dry between coats. Tip: it's better to spray light coats instead of one heavy coat so your paint doesn't run or drip. COLORSHOT dries to the touch in 10 minutes! Such an easy way to give your desk accessories a whole new look! You can even spray paint your binder clips because you are that much of a boss!
Painted Cornhole Outdoor Party Game
Do you enjoy throwing things for sport? Are you good at tossing items where they need to be, like laundry in the hamper, or a cold beer to your best friend? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should put your skills to good use with your very own Cornhole outdoor party game. Sure, you could stick with a basic set you can order online, but you’re not basic, are you? Kick up the color factor on a standard Cornhole set with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint and chevron stencils! This is a great outdoor project that turns into a fun summer game for any party or get together! What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Emoji, Orange Slice, Stiletto, Mermaid, Black Tie Affair) - Cornhole game set - Large chevron pattern stencil - Protective plastic - Painter's tape For your Cornhole game, you can choose to paint with as many colors as you like; we went with five to keep with our backyard games theme, but feel free to have fun with it! We recommend selecting a palette that makes you feel like a winner. Gather your large stencil, your paints and supplies and get ready for an awesome outdoor project. Cover your game board with protective plastic up to the point where you are painting your first color section. Tape the plastic in place and lay your stencil down over the exposed section. Begin spraying several light coats of color until your desired coverage is achieved. Remove the stencil once finished. Once the first section is dry, cover it with plastic to protect from overspray, as well as the remaining sections to be painted, leaving only the one you are currently painting exposed. Repeat spray and masking process for each section until the game board is complete. See how easy that was? Now you're ready to show everyone who's the outdoor party game champion!
DIY Connect Four Outdoor Party Game
If you're looking for fun games for kids or fun kid activities in general, this post is for you. (We're looking at all of the tired parents and babysitters out there trying to keep the kids occupied until school starts up again.) Or hey, maybe you don't have kids and you're just a champion looking to continue your world dominance at Connect Four in your own backyard ... we get you. We love winners. And winners love using COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint to add color to their outdoor party games (and everything else in their lives). Read on to see how you can score big on your own Connect Four outdoor party game with COLORSHOT! *Super cute dog not included. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Emoji, Orange Slice, Stiletto, Mermaid, Little Black Dress) - Large wood Connect Four game with wood disc playing pieces - Painter's tape - Heavy paper or plastic If you're good at working with wood, you can most likely figure out how to make your own giant Connect Four backyard game or find a tutorial online. If you're not, you can bribe someone else to make it, or find one to purchase. The best part is adding color anyways! Because this is such a large game piece, it makes a great outdoor project since you'll want to be in a well-ventilated area with lots of space. 1. Start by taping off your board with painter's tape as shown. If you're a perfectionist, have your ruler or measuring tape handy for even spacing between sections, or you can just eyeball it. Tape around the edges of your board as well to protect from overspray. 2. Once taped off, place your game board on a protected surface and get your cans of COLORSHOT ready! 3. Use heavy paper like posterboard to protect sections from overspray, leaving only the area you plan on spraying with the first color exposed. 4. Spray several light coats of the first color onto the exposed section, letting dry in between coats. 5. Let dry then remove the heavy paper. 6. Repeat process of taping heavy paper over sections you are not working on to protect from overspray. 7. Spray the next section with several light coats of color, letting dry between coats. 8. Remove heavy paper and continue process of re-covering sections you are not working on. 9. Once you've completed all sections, carefully peel away the tape and let your game board completely dry. Stand back and admire your colorful work before putting your game face on and defending your Connect Four champion title!
Giant Painted Jenga Inspired Game
Is your house the place to be when it comes to summer fun? If you don't have a pool and your kitchen is loaded with kale and lentils instead of the sweetest snacks money can buy, don't worry, there's still time to put your game face on and win the title of best backyard on the block. For starters, summer games for your backyard are awesome and they're super easy to DIY. This giant Jenga®-Inspired game makes a fun activity for kids, and is also perfect for people of all ages ... we can't help you with cutting the wood (there are so many easy tutorials online though), but we CAN help you EASILY add color with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint so you have the best-looking giant Jenga®-inspired game around. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Emoji, Orange Slice, Stiletto, Mermaid, Black Tie Affair) - 54 Oversized wood pieces (cut to the same size) - Painter's tape To make your own giant Jenga®-inspired game, first you'll need 54 wood pieces, all cut to the same size. If you're not exactly sure how to do this, there are lots of great tutorials online, or you could just get someone else to do it for you. (We're fans of that idea.) For our set, we chose 5 COLORSHOT spray paint colors because we're all about color. You could absolutely use less colors or more if you're even crazier about color than we are! You'll want to make sure you're in a well-ventilated area when working with any spray paint, so this makes a great outdoor project, especially since you'll need more room when working with oversized game pieces. Lay the wood pieces of your first color in a row on a protected surface and tape all around the edges to hold the pieces together and to mask around the edges. Spray several light coats of your first color onto the tops of wood pieces, letting dry in between coats. When the tops are dry, carefully flip over and repeat on the backside. Another option is to spray the ends of some of the wood pieces like we did, or all of them if you feel like it. Have fun with it! To spray the ends, place the wood pieces vertically together and tape around the sides as shown to keep the sides protected from overspray. Spray several light coats of color until your desired coverage is achieved, letting dry between coats. Let dry and flip over to repeat on other side. Once you've finished spraying, remove tape and let everything dry completely. Repeat for other pieces as desired. Now you're ready to crush the competition with your skills. This oversized Jenga®-inspired game is great for barbeques, parties or even just a fun game for kids any day of the week. Let the summer games begin!
Spray Painted Monogram Chairs
Royalty deserves a throne to sit on, don't you think? And since you are the queen of throwing the best dinner parties around, you and your guests should dine while sitting on chairs that deserve to be in your presence. BUT, that doesn't mean you have to max out your credit card on golden chairs lined with jewels; you can upcycle a simple set of chairs easily with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint so it only looks like you spent a fortune. Grab your current chairs or go discount shopping, then grab a monogram sticker and your favorite spray paint colors for a stunning set of seats for your soiree. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Primer, Lucky Penny and Cosmo) - Clear lucite chairs - Sticky letter stencils - Masking tape Make sure chair is clean and free of any dust. Place a sticky monogram stencil on the backside of chair backing. (Make sure letter is facing the correct way from the front view!) Spray several light coats of Lucky Penny (or desired color) over the stencil openings. Let dry between coats. Tip: Since metallic colors aren't as opaque as gloss or matte, we sprayed a coat of Primer over the final coat of Lucky Penny to seal in the color before adding Cosmo over the top for the rest of the chair backing. Remove the stencil and once your base is completely dry, you can spray Cosmo or desired color over the backside of chair (make sure to mask off the rest of the chair to protect from overspray). Remember to apply color in light coats for best results. Let dry completely. We don't know about you, but we think these chairs are worthy of royalty. Now your party guests can feel like they are sitting on a throne when dining at your table.
Monogram Painted Charger Plates
Some might argue that the table styling at a dinner party is actually more important than the dinner itself; and they would be right. But does this mean that you have to go out and spend a fortune on servingware and table decor to maintain your new yearly title of "Everyone's Favorite Party Hostess/Host"? Obviously not, because you are far too clever and creative to empty your bank account on decor and leave nothing left for spending on food. Hangry guests defeat the purpose of a dinner party. Serve up your main dish in style with Monogram Painted Charger Plates easily made with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint. Why the monogram? That way everyone knows whose table takes the cake in style and cuisine. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Primer, Extra Guacamole and Marshmallow) - Metal charger plates - Stencil cutting machine Make sure metal charger plate is clean and free of dust. Spray with Primer and let dry completely. Spray the front of charger with Marshmallow. Once completely dry, press a vinyl monogram sticker (if you can't find online you can make your own with contact paper) on the center of charger. Spray several light coats of Extra Guacamole over the entire charger until desired coverage is achieved, letting dry in between coats. Remove monogram sticker.
Spray Painted Chandelier
One easy way to fancify any space is with a chandelier. Even an outdoor space and even if you hang the chandelier from a tree. Instant fancy. If you want to be even fancier (and why wouldn't you?), you can spray paint your chandelier to match your party color scheme using COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint. With all of the bright, on-trend colors to choose from, upping your dinner party's game with a spray painted chandelier that matches your table is easier than putting together your guest list. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Farmer's Daughter) - Metal chandelier Make sure the chandelier is clean and free of any dust. Remove any bulbs, candles, etc. If your chandelier is made from a shiny metal, you'll first want to spray it with Primer and let dry. Spray several light coats of Farmer's Daughter (or desired color) over entire chandelier, including chain, letting dry between coats. Whether your chandelier is purely for decoration or functional, no one can deny how fantastic it will look newly made over with COLORSHOT. Look at that color coverage - so pretty in pink!
Copper Spray Painted Vases
Vases come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but in just the color you're looking for? That can be a tricky thing. There seem to be much less options when it comes to vases in the shapes and sizes you need and like, and the colors you want for your event. You'll probably hear us say this a lot, but that's because it's true: luckily there's COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint to the rescue! With so many on-trend, bright color options to choose from, you can just spray paint your vases the exact shade you're looking for and worry about more important things, like your dinner party menu or who's in charge of pouring your next glass of wine. Which reminds us, winos, we have just the COLOR for you. Okay back to the vases ... What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Lucky Penny) - Glass vases There are two different ways you can spray paint your glass vases. The traditional way, which would be the outsides, or painting the insides so you can maintain that glossy glass exterior. If you spray paint the insides of the vases, you might want to stick to faux flowers, or you can use the real deal and just know that the spray paint, while strong, isn't entirely waterproof and might potentially at some point flake off with extended exposure to water. That being said, to spray paint the insides of the vases, simply spray your paint inside and swirl the vase around to make sure you coat the entire inside with paint. Set upside down for a bit to make sure the paint doesn't pool at the bottom. Let dry completely before using!
Painted Tea Light Holders
Pretty much everyone has tea light candles around the house ... put them to good use during your dinner party for a pretty glowing table centerpiece that doesn't distract from the yummy food and good conversation. Keep with your party theme by making sure your tea light holders match the other colors you're using ... and before you sigh and get annoyed thinking, "Great, one more thing I have to find, thanks for making me feel bad COLORSHOT," hold up. All you need to make your tea light holders ready to play at your party is a can or two of COLORSHOT Spray Paint. Seriously, just spray paint your tea light holders for a quick and easy way to create a beautiful table centerpiece that's easy on the eyes, your budget and your time to get it all together. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Extra Guacamole and Lucky Penny) - Glass tea light holders - Spray bottle - Vinegar and water - Masking tape Make sure the tealight holders are clean and free of dust. If you are going to be creating half & half mercury-glass inspired designs, have your masking tape, vinegar and spray bottle ready! For solid-color tea light holders, simply spray paint the entire holder, applying several light coats and allowing to dry in between coats. For the mercury glass inspired tea light holders, first tape off the top section of the holder to protect from overspray. Spray several light coats of first color onto bottom half, letting dry in between coats. Remove the tape and let dry completely. Once the bottom half is dry, tape over it to protect the color from overspray. In a spray bottle, mix a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and spray onto the top half of glass holder. Immediately spray with spray paint and let dry. Remove tape. Now your party table is ready for colorful ambiance that pairs perfectly with good food and good company!
DIY Painted Wicker Basket
Baskets are made for function, but that doesn't mean they can't look fab while doing their jobs. Unfortunately, most baskets you find out there are pretty simple and seriously lacking in color and style. Luckily, you have COLORSHOT in your arsenal of creativity because painting a basket with spray paint is easy for the expert and the novice DIYer alike, and the results will have you bragging to your friends about your pretty new basket every time they come over. (And if they don't appreciate your upcycled basket, you might want to get some new friends. Just saying.) All you need is a roll of masking tape, that old basket you threw out in the garage, and a few bright COLORSHOT spray paint colors to get your party started. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Cosmo, Farmer's Daughter and Extra Guacamole) - Wicker basket - Masking tape - Plastic garbage bag Make sure your basket is clean and free of any dust. If you're going to be painting with several colors in a striped pattern like we did, mask off the bottom section with masking tape, using enough tape to cover several inches above to protect from overspray. Spray several light coats of first color as needed to achieve desired coverage, letting dry between coats. Once the first section of color is completely dry, tape it off, as well as the section above, leaving desired amount of space in between tape. Repeat spray paint and taping process for each band of color you decide to create. That old basket from the garage (or living room - you get the point) looks even better than when you bought it. Now you can store your party stuff in style!
