Easy Paper Gingerbread House
Does anyone actually eat the gingerbread houses they make? Especially after all of the fun it is to create them! If you're more about displaying your child's hard work than eating it (there's no judgment of course, since we also love eating - especially sweets), this gingerbread house craft is for you. Our friends at Project Kid show you how to make a paper gingerbread house using Aleene's Original Tacky Glue and supplies you likely already have in your craft stash. Get the kids together and have some fun with this easy Christmas craft! Repeat to make a second piece. Print template, trace, and cut cardboard sides for the front and the back of the house. Cut a 5 by 8 piece of cardboard for the roof (make sure the corrugation is in the direction of the fold). Glue the four cardboard sides to the box with Tacky Glue, with the front and back opposite one another. Bend the roof piece in half and add glue to the top edges of the front and back pieces. Press the roof piece in place on the top edges. Cut paper straws at an angle and glue them to the side edges of the front of the house. Glue two more to the front edge of the roof. Cut colored cardstock into doors and windows and make a candy window by attaching small segments of a cupcake liner to the sides of a circular window. Make a mini wreath by twisting a green pipe cleaner into a circle. Glue on a small pipe cleaner bow, and glue to the front door. To create a snowy roof, cut a piece of white cardstock to fit the roof, creating "drip shapes" on opposite sides. Use a foam brush to brush an even layer of Tacky Glue onto cardstock and sprinkle with iridescent glitter. Fold in half and glue to the roof. Cut holly leaves from green felt and glue them to the apex of the roof with three mini red pom-poms. Use a white paint pen to draw fun designs onto the house as desired. Look at how cute this paper gingerbread house is! And the best part ... you don't have to toss this house when the season is over. Once you're finished crafting, you can head to the kitchen to whip up a batch of gingerbread cookies to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Snow Globe Ugly Christmas Sweater
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ... on your ugly sweater this holiday season! Now's the perfect time to start planning what you're going to wear to your ugly Christmas sweater party, which will be here before you know it. This no-sew snow globe ugly sweater created by The Craft Patch is fantastically tacky with an actual functioning snow globe design. Get her tutorial using Aleene's Fabric Fusion below and get ready to let it snow this holiday season with your new ugly sweater design! What you need: - Aleene's Fabric Fusion - Sweater - Felt - red and light blue (or desired colors) - Snow Globe Pattern - Clear vinyl tablecloth fabric - Fake snow and/or glitter - Fabric scissors - Iron-on vinyl snowman and snowflakes (cut with cutting machine or create from felt) - Loose white pompoms - Pompom trim - Iron - Plastic or cardboard cut to fit inside of sweater Create your own snowglobe pattern and cut out pieces. Cut a snowman out of iron-on vinyl using a craft cutting machine. If you don't have a vinyl cutter, you could cut the snowman out of white felt. Apply Fabric Fusion all the way around the back of the FRONT GLOBE piece. Press a piece of clear tablecloth vinyl into the glue and make sure the glue seals all the way around (so no glitter or snow is able to fall out when wearing your sweater). Let dry, then trim any excess vinyl that is sticking out over the edge of the globe. Iron the iron-on vinyl snowman onto the back globe piece and pile the loose fake snow and glitter onto the center of the snow globe. Run a continuous bead of Fabric Fusion around the outside of the back piece of the globe. Carefully press the top piece in place over the back, lining up the outside edges of the felt. Let dry for 2-4 hours before shaking the snow so it doesn't get stuck in any wet glue. Tip: you can use sewing pins or clothespins to hold the felt securely in place while drying. Once the glue on the snow globe is dry, you can add the decorative piece to the bottom using Fabric Fusion. Place a piece of cardboard, aluminum foil or plastic wrap inside the sweater to prevent any glue from soaking through to the backside. Glue the snow globe to the front of your sweater, then add pompoms everywhere and trim around the neckline and sleeves. Let dry completely. You are now ready to be your own winter wonderland this holiday season!

DIY Christmas Light Towels
The one area of my home that always seems to lack Christmas decorations is the kitchen, so these simple-to-make Christmas light towels were the perfect way to add a little cheer. With Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints, the design is not only easy to draw but stands up against heavy use and washes. Package them up for a thoughtful Christmas gift, or use them all season-long! What you need: Dish towels, ironed and free of creases Pencil Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint, black and assorted colors Step 1: Fold the dish towel in half and lay on a flat surface. Use the pencil to draw the light cord, making loops across the towel in two rows. Step 2: Trace the pencil marks with black Tulip paint. Step 3: Determine your desired order of colors. Every approximate inch along the black cord, paint an oval shape, alternating colors all the way across the towel. This creates the colored "bulbs." Step 4: Once all of the bulbs have been painted, use the black paint again to connect the bulbs to the cord, painting a small square "fixture" over the top of the oval. Set aside to dry overnight before using.
Mexican Sweet Bread Christmas Ornaments with Tacky Glue Bread Dough
Did you know that you can make dough from bread? Like literally from a slice of bread!? These Mexican sweet bread inspired Christmas ornaments are super easy to make, starting with a slice of white bread and Aleene's Tacky Glue. You can use these as individual ornaments or you can string them together to make a really fun and colorful festive garland of all of your favorite pan dulce. Let's get started ... What you need: Aleene's Original Tacky Glue Slice of white bread Acrylic paint (for colored clay) Plastic bags Toothpick Gold twine Scissors Remove the crust from the bread. Tear the bread into little pieces. Place the bread inside of a plastic bag. Add a Tablespoon of Aleene's Tacky Glue. Squish the Tacky Glue with the bread inside of the bag to mix it together well. Add a drop of acrylic paint to the bread and glue mixture to give it color. You'll need to mix 4 bags of bread for the yellow base of the concha Mexican sweet bread. And you'll need to mix a second bag of bread dough with pink or brown paint to make the sugar decoration that goes on top on the concha. Once you've completely mixed the bread dough with the paint, it's time to make the Mexican sweet bread inspired ornaments. Create the pan dulce shapes with the bread dough just like regular dough. Roll the dough into a ball. Then flatten into the round, domed concha shape. Make a small ball of the "topping" and flatten. Cut into strips and add them to the top of each concha shape. If you're going to hang the ornaments, then make a small hole at the top with a toothpick. If you're going to string the ornaments together to make a garland, then put a small hole on either side of the sweet breads for the string to go through. Set these aside to dry overnight. Turn them over in the morning so the backs can dry thoroughly for another few hours. Once the ornaments are dry you can hang them on the tree with a piece of gold twine or string them together as a garland with a longer piece of ribbon. Tie the gold twine into a knot on the ends to make a hanger. Hang on your tree and enjoy!
DIY Ultimate Cork Christmas Tree
We know that as the holidays roll around, your drink of choice is most likely wine. (who are we kidding, it’s everyone’s drink of choice even when the holidays aren’t here, but we’ll keep that a secret). Instead of tossing the corks, use them in the fun DIY project that’s perfect for rustic holiday décor. Just grab Aleene’s The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive and let’s get started. What you need: - Aleene's The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive -Wine corks -Twine -Burlap -Christmas lights 1. First, gather all of the corks you have. If you don't have as many as we have in the video, totally fine! This tree can be as little or as large as you want. A mini version is perfect for a cute little ornament. 2. Start gluing the corks together side-by-side. This will create a row of corks. Keep doing this to create more rows, with the next row having one less cork than the one before. 3. Once you have your desired amount of rows, depending on how big you want the tree to be, start gluing the rows together. They will look stacked on top of each other in the shape of a tree. 4. Now that the corks are formed into the tree shape, take 3 corks and glue them in a triangle for the top of the tree. 5. Take 3 more corks and do the same thing; except these will act as the trunk of the tree, at the bottom. Take the twine and wrap it around these 3 corks. Be sure to glue as you wrap, to secure the twine in place. Then glue this to the bottom. 6. Now, take the burlap and make a bow then glue it to the top of the tree. 7. Grab the Christmas lights and insert them in the spaces between the corks. Be sure to plug in the lights once you've placed the tree where you want it. These trees are easy to create but still add the perfect holiday touch. Still need to get a gift for that wine-lover friend of yours? Don't WINE about it! Not only is this a fun recycling craft, but it's a great gift idea!

6 Ways To Transform Your Ornaments With Puffy Paint
Looking for some super cute ways to decorate your ornaments this season that won't break the bank? Whip up some adorable ornaments in minutes using a craft closet staple - Puffy Paint! Now, when we talk about Puffy Paint, we actually are talking 3D Fabric Paint! We make several brands of this paint, but recommend the Scribbles or Puffy Paint brand, which can be found at your local craft store! This pack is perfect for this project and gives you a wide variety of paints to get crafty with! There's also another 20 pack that has iridescent and glitter finishes you might like as well.Another thing to consider before starting this project, is having an ornament hanger on hand for letting your ornament dry. You can buy a 6 pack like this one on Amazon -or- make your own from a wire hanger. Another idea is to get a piece of foam like Margot did for her ornaments in this ornament post, then you poke wooden skewers into the foam. You simply let your ornaments dry upside down. There are a lot of possibilities for "puffy painting" your ornaments. Here's a few ideas that are simple and so easy to try! Add a few lines and squiggles for a super simple ornament. For this one, from the top, we drew four teal lines and connected them at the bottom of the ornament. Then in between each line, we added a colorful squiggle. It doesn't get eassier than this! For this leaf-inspired design, from the top of your ornament paint 4 one inch lines of dimensional paint like the 12-3-6 and 9 hands of a clock. Take your next color of paint and draw a petal leaf shape all the way around the first line of paint. Follow that paint color up with another color of paint, then another to make this pretty leaf-like appearance. You could also slightly modify the shape of this design by making it more scalloped and curved if you wish! Make this diamond ornament in minutes. Start off by creating your dots and diamonds in the middle of your ornament. We made seven going all the way around the ornament. Then we zig-zagged around those diamonds in an alternating color. After you've done that zig-zagged diamonds add another zigzag row to top and bottom. Accent with more dots! This simple ornament is perfect in polka dots! Simply squeeze on the paints in random dot sizes all over your ornament. If you notice, we chose to make our red dots smaller than the teal dots. It's up to your preference on colors and positioning, just make sure not to apply too large of dots, or your paint may start dripping down your ornament if too much is applied. These might just be the simplest snowflakes to make ever. Start by squeezing 8 dots in a circular pattern with the paint. Then connect each dot to it's opposite dot! Easy peasy. Swirls are so much fun to make and are addicting. They are kinda like creating loopy C's, G's and E lettering! Change them up by squeezing them clockwise and counter-clockwise, rotating as you go.The cool thing about using dimensional paint is that you can wipe it off if you make a mistake, so it's pretty much full-proof!What other dimensional designs can you dream up to decorate your ornament? We'd love to know in the comments below!!!!
