Easy Ice Cream Cone Costume Tutorial
Take a break from scary this Halloween and wear something sweet instead! There's no trick to wearing this treat of a costume created with Tulip Dazzling Glitter Paints and a simple white dress. Holly from Club Crafted shows you how to make this Ice Cream Cone Costume for an easy way to sprinkle some fun on your Halloween festivities. What you need: - Tulip Dazzling Glitter Paint - White dress - Brown kraft paper - Ruler - Brown marker - Scissors - Tape - String - Hole punch - Freezer paper/wax paper Lay your clean dress out flat on your work surface. Tip: you can insert a piece of freezer paper or wax paper inside of your dress to help prevent any paint potentially soaking through the fabric to the backside. Use different colors of Dazzling Glitter Paint to create sprinkles all over the top half of dress, tapering off as you get towards the bottom of dress. Let dry completely once you have finished adding paint. Cut a large triangle from brown kraft paper and use your ruler and a brown marker to create crisscross lines over the entire triangle. This will create a waffle cone effect. Roll the triangle into a cone shape (design outward) and tape along edge to hold in place, trimming edges and the bottom of cone to perfect the shape and so it sits flat. Make sure to tape on the inside as well for an extra secure hold. Punch a hole on each side of the cone and tie each end of a string through the holes to create a way to hold the cone hat on your head. Tip: first measure the amount of string you'll need for a secure fit around your face, trimming as needed before tying to hat. And that's it! Just a few simple steps to making your own DIY Ice Cream Cone Costume for a sweet spin on Halloween.

Seen here in this oh so fab long skirt tube dress by Love Tanjane, trendsetter Hilary modified her tie-dye maxi dress into a maxi skirt and paired with a white tank for casual chic vibes. What you need: - Tulip 1-Color Tie-Dye Kit in Black (2 to 3 kits) - White maxi skirt in 100% natural fiber fabric (like cotton or rayon) - Plastic surface cover To create your own Hilary Duff-inspired tie-dye maxi skirt, bind your clean, damp skirt horizontally (on a covered work surface to protect from dye) with rubber bands from your Black Tie-Dye Kit. We used 4 evenly spaced rubber bands but you can absolutely add more if you want - there's no wrong way to tie dye! Lace Jeans DIY
Luckily for some of us, the ripped jeans trend is still a thing! Over time and with washing and wear and tear, however, those rips can get bigger and bigger and end up not being so wearable anymore. One fab solution we're big fans of is adding some lace! Reinforcing your ripped jeans with swatches of lace helps keep the tears from expanding and it's a super cute way to customize your look without spending much at all. Just grab a tube of Aleene's Super Fabric Adhesive, a few swatches of lace and you're ready to rock your own no-sew lace jeans! What you need: - Aleene's Super Fabric Adhesive - Ripped jeans - Lace swatches - Scissors - Cardboard or heavy cardstock/paper Trim away loose fringe from around holes in jeans. Turn jeans inside out. Trim cardboard or heavy cardstock to fit inside each leg to prevent glue from soaking through to backside. Trim lace swatch to fit over tears. You can either use one large panel or cut lace to fit over each hole. Make sure the lace is larger than the tears. Use Super Fabric Adhesive to glue lace around tears. Let dry completely, then remove cardboard from inside jean legs and turn right side out. Make sure to wait at least 3 days before washing to let the glue fully cure. Take your newly upcycled lace jeans out for some fun!

DIY Glass Gem Apple Mason Jar
It's fall and that means apple season! With their bright red freshness taking over my fruit bowl and their aroma coming out of my wax burners, it seems only right to bring this pretty little fruit front and center as gem covered mason jar. If you've covered a mason jar in gems before you might have found yourself frustrated with lackluster results, watching your stones drip off in hot weather or pop free when it gets cold at night. Today we can use Aleene's Ultimate Strength glue for the best results. I've found it to work best for making gem covered mason jars with gems that actually stay put. The craft time for this project is longer than with other adhesives but the end results with beautiful jars covered in gems that don't disappoint and fall of randomly makes it worth the little extra bit of time, in my opinion! Save Save For this project you will need: Short and squat "apple shaped" mason jars Aleene's Ultimate Strength Adhesive Red glass gems Washi or painter's tape Red spray paint Wood dowel ends Laser cut wood leaves Glass gems can be found at craft stores and big box stores. For a more recognizable apple, I went with red gems but remember there are also yellow and green apples, too! Apply a small amount of Glass & Bead adhesive to the backside (flat side) of your gem. Straight out of the tube, this glue is pretty loose and if you go straight into using it you're going to have gems sliding all over your glass. To help combat this, place a few gems sticky side up and give a moment for the glue to begin setting, becoming tacky. Don't go crazy and set up a dozen gems at once, just a good 4-5 at a time is ample. Place the gems on the glass, holding the jar so that you are placing the gems straight down, from a birds-eye view, so that the gems have less help from gravity to slide off. Start with 3 gems in the middle, holding the jar in place for a few minutes (I just set mine on my lap and perused Pinterest for a few minutes) so that the adhesive can begin to set. Once a slight push with your fingers doesn't affect the position of these 3 starting gems, it's time to get going, building around those 3 to fill the surface of the jar. Once you've got a good starting point, for me it was the flower shape in the picture above, use tape that isn't super sticky, like washi or painter's tape, and go all around the gems to keep them in place. Allow the stones at least an hour to set. Once set, we can start working a bit more at a time without worrying about the stones slipping off of the glass. Turn your jar on its side so that your stones are near the bottom, placed on top of your work surface. Begin stacking your glue covered gems onto the glass, using the stones beneath as support to hold them mostly in place. At a certain point, gravity is going to kick in and your beads are going to try to slip off, after all, glass is a slippery thing and I haven't quite figured out a way to keep gravity from doing its job. If necessary, feel free to add more tape to keep everything in place as it should be. Allow the adhesive at least an hour to set. Continue adding gems around your jar until it is fully covered. Allow the mason jars to sit without being handled for at least 24 hours, though a few days would be best. While your jars are setting up it's a good time to tackle lids. First hit your ring and seal with a spray primer and then apply as many coats of glossy, red spray paint as needed for an even, smooth finish. Apply a healthy dose of Aleene's ultimate adhesive to the inside of your dowel cap and along the edge. Allow a few minutes to get tacky and place in the center of your lid. This time gravity will work for us and should keep the dowel cap "stem" in place without any tape or assistance at all, yay! Place a laser cut leaf on your lid and figure out how you'd like the placement to be near the stem. Apply a trace amount of glue to the edge where it will touch the surface and allow a moment to become tacky. Set the leaf in place and hold for a few minutes until it can stand on its own. Allow the lid at least 24 hours to cure well. Add battery operated lighting to your jar and screw the lid in place. While it is a lengthy process with drying time, using Aleene's Ultimate Adhesive is the best option I have found when making gem covered mason jars and, in truth, I've made quite a few! Once fully cured, this glue does not want to give the gems up for anything. Even when baked in the sun, day in and day out, for an entire summer with temperatures exceeding 100, my outdoor glass gem covered mason jars are still kicking without a single gem having fallen off. That's with getting knocked around being moved for the yard to be mowed and all of that jazz. With the little bit of extra time it takes to use this adhesive over something quicker, you'll find that the longevity of your finished project immensely improved making the little bit of time at the start worth the effort! Add in the fact that these cuties look like my fave fall fruit, and this project is perfect to light up those cool, crisp Autumn nights!
DIY Cotton Candy Costume
What you need: Aleene’s Quick Dry Fabric Fusion Pink tulle fabric Old T-Shirt Scissors White Foam Paper (12"x18") Glue Needle and thread Headband HAT Cut your foam paper 12" x 5" and roll it into a long cone. Add glue all along the edge and let it dry. Cut another piece of foam paper into a circle about 7" in diameter. Glue one end of your cone to the center of your circle. Take a couple yards of your tulle and wrap them around your cone and let them fluff out to look like cotton candy. As you do this use Aleenes Fabric Fusion to tack it to the cone and to itself to hold it in place. Glue your headband to the bottom of the foam paper. TOP Cut your t-shirt into a tank by cutting off the sleeves and the neck. Use 2 yards of your tulle, wrapping it loosely around the top of the t-shirt using Aleenes Fabric Fusion to hold it in place along the shoulders. SKIRT Using about 5 or 6 yards keep your tulle folded in half (the way it came off the bolt) and fold it again to make it shorter. Using your needle and thread tack your thread at one end of your folded fabric and make big running stitches all along the open edge. When you get to the other end slowly and carefully pull your thread to gather your skirt. Measure it loosely around your t-shirt and when you have it as long as you need it to fit around your t-shirt (and you can still get in and out of it without it ripping) tie off your thread end. Use your Aleenes Fabric Fusion to glue your tulle skirt to your t-shirt. Let dry. Add the remainder of your tulle around the middle of your t-shirt to fill in and make nice fluffy cotton candy.
