Mommy and Me Idea: Words of Kindness Tie-Dye T-shirts
Spread good vibes everywhere you go with a words of kindness T-shirt made even brighter in spirit with tie dye! Craft Box Girls will show you how to create fun tie-dye quote art tees for everyone in the fam with Tulip Two-Minute Tie Dye and Dimensional Paints. It’s the perfect project for adding some smiles to your day – and everyone else’s – every time you wear it! What you need: Tulip Two-Minute Tie Dye Kit of choice - Tulip Puff Paint of choice - White 100% cotton T-shirts - Pencil - Cardboard - Disposable plastic surface cover - Words of kindness quote To kick off your words of kindness family T-shirt project, first wash the shirts (without fabric softener) and leave damp. Cover your work surface with a disposable plastic surface cover. You can choose any tie-dye technique you want for this project! (This will be the background for your words of kindness quote, but don’t worry, any tie-dye pattern will work.) Craft Box Girls went with a spiral tie-dye pattern. To do this, lay your damp shirt out flat, then pinch it in the middle and twist the entire shirt until a spiral is formed. Secure the shirt with rubber bands according to the technique. For spiral as shown, crisscross three rubber bands to create six wedge shapes on the bound shirt. Prep your dye bottles according to instructions, then add tie dye to the bound T-shirt. For spiral, you can add as many as six colors – one per wedge – or as few as one color. It’s up to you! Then flip it over and repeat adding dyes in the same pattern on the other side. Before placing your dyed project in the Two-Minute Tie Dye Container, it’s SUPER important that you make sure all areas of the shirt are still very damp. If any part has started drying out, spritz with water to re-dampen. Then place into the container and process in the microwave, let set and launder according to instructions. After your tie-dye shirts have been washed and dried, it’s time to add words of kindness to them! Lay the shirts out flat and place a piece of cardboard into each shirt to hold it stable while you paint, and to prevent any paint from soaking through to the back side. If you don’t feel comfortable freehand painting, you can use a pencil to lightly sketch out your quote onto the shirts first. Next use your Tulip Dimensional Paints to trace over your words of kindness in any colors you like! Once you’ve finished making your words of kindness pop with dimensional color, let the shirts dry flat until the paint is completely dry. Now it’s time to spread words of kindness where ever you wear your fun family tie-dye T-shirts! What else are you inspired to make to help spread some extra cheer in your community? This daddy and me T-shirt set from Oh Yay Studio is super quick & easy to make with Tulip Fabric Markers, and is totally doable as a last-minute Father’s Day gift. What you need: Tulip Fabric Markers – desired pack - White or light-colored cotton T-shirts - Printed quote art to use as a pattern - Tape - Cardboard - Pencil - Iron We know these daddy and me shirts are a last-minute Father’s Day gift, but you’ll still want to wash and dry the shirts (without fabric softener) before getting started for best results with the Fabric Markers. Iron each shirt smooth as well. Cut pieces of cardboard to fit inside each shirt, and tape each quote art pattern onto the cardboard. Place each inside of their respective shirt under the top layer, then use a pencil to lightly trace over the wording to help you see it a bit better. (Leave the cardboard inside the shirts while you work to prevent any potential of marker ink soaking through to the back sides.) Use which ever color you like to trace over and fill in the quote art on your daddy and me shirts. You can make them match, or use different colors if you prefer! You can also add another layer of ink over the wording and designs if you feel like it’s needed after the initial coverage. Don’t worry, the markers dry quickly so you’ll still have these last-minute Father’s Day gift shirts done in time! Once you have the wording done, use bright colors to add fun designs to your daddy and me shirts! Extra cardboard makes a great straight edge for lines, and you can do dots and squiggles too. Get creative with it! Create similar designs on the other shirt to match your overall theme. Once you’re happy with how this last-minute Father’s Day gift project has turned out, the only thing left to do is let the shirts dry completely before wrapping them up for Dad! These daddy and me shirts turned out so adorable, right?! Creativity to the rescue! Painted Denim Clothing Upcycle Idea
Why buy new clothes when you can make something you already have new again, and be creative at the same time? We’re loving the personalized fashion trends we’ve been seeing lately; it’s such a fun way to dress up in styles that are totally you! This clothing upcycle idea from artist Steffi Lynn shows you just how easy it is to customize your denim with hand-painted designs using Tulip Color Products – without spending a fortune. What you need: - Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints in desired colors - Tulip Fabric Paint Markers - Jeans or other clothing item - Sketch paper and pencil (optional) - Chalk pencil (optional) This clothing upcycle idea focuses on decorating the pockets of jeans, but you can use these same ideas and techniques on other areas of your jeans, or different clothing as well! You’ll need Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints and Tulip Fabric Paint Markers for this project. Fabric Paint Markers are more opaque than regular fabric markers, so your designs will really pop on your jeans! Before getting started, make sure your jeans have been washed and dried without fabric softener. (Softener can prevent the paints and markers from properly bonding to the fabric.) Steffi Lynn recommends sketching out your designs first to see what you like before starting on your jeans. Decide which parts of your designs you’d like “flat” (Fabric Paint Markers) and which parts you want to be dimensional (Dimensional Paints). Tip: If you’re not feeling confident about creating your designs on your jeans, you can use a chalk pencil to first sketch them onto the fabric. If you mess up, you can easily wipe the chalk away with a damp cloth and start over. When you are happy with your designs, you can trace over them with Fabric Paint Markers or Dimensional Paints. Start with the “flat” designs using your Fabric Paint Markers before creating your dimensional designs. Next use your Dimensional Paints to create dimension on your marker designs, and add any extra details that you like! Once you’re happy with your work, let your jeans dry flat until everything has completely dried. (Wait at least 72 hours before washing.) Now it’s time to show off your artistic skills with denim that pops with color and creativity! Wasn’t this an easy clothing upcycle idea? It’s a great way to make something new again, or even cover old stains or discoloring on clothing. What else are you thinking of personalizing with Tulip products? Polka Dot Clothing DIY with Fabric Paint
Looking for creative ways to make your old outfits new again? Or maybe add some extra color to a simple set of clothes? This clothing DIY from Norx in the Know uses Tulip Fabric Paints in glittery colors to dress up a loungewear set with sparkling polka dots. Pick out your favorite paints and let’s get started! What you need: - Tulip Fabric Paints in desired colors - Loungewear set or other clothing - Round object for making dots (like the eraser end of a pencil or handle of a paint pouncer) - Paper plate or paint palette - Paper towels Before getting started on this clothing DIY, make sure your wearables have been washed and dried without fabric softener, especially if they are brand new. (New fabrics are usually coated in a chemical called “sizing” that can prevent the paint from properly bonding with the fabric fibers. Fabric softener does the same thing.) Shake each paint color and squeeze some of each onto a paper plate or paint palette. Dip your round object (such as the eraser end of a pencil or a brush handle) into the first paint color, then press onto your clothing. Continue this process with the first color, creating dots randomly on your clothing. Clean off your brush handle (or tool you are using) and dip into your next paint color. Repeat the process of dipping into paint and pressing onto the fabric until you are happy with the way your polka dots look on this clothing DIY! Depending on the paint color or finish you are working with, you might want to dab on a second coat after the first coat dries. When you are finished, let your clothing dry flat until the paint is completely dry. Now it’s time to shine in your sparkling polka dot clothing DIY! Wasn’t it so easy to add a little something extra to your outfit? What other clothing DIYs are you creating with Tulip Fabric Paints? Make sure to tag us on social and share with us!

If any mess-ups or mishaps occur, the paint can be easily wiped away with a damp paper towel and the kids can begin again! Once everyone has painted over and decorated each cling design, let the clings dry overnight. Check to make sure they’ve completely dried, then carefully peel each away from the surface of the plastic bag. You can use this “Vote for our Future” design or come up with your own quote art. Get creative with it in your favorite style! There are a few ways you can transfer your design onto your T-shirt. You can simply use your sketch as a reference and freehand your design straight onto the fabric, or you can use a chalk pencil first, that way you can wipe away any mishaps before you get started. If your shirt is a light color, you can place your sketch under the first layer and trace over it with your markers. Go with what you feel most comfortable with. If you want your design to be at a diagonal like Steffi Lynn’s, you can use masking tape and a ruler to lay down lines of tape on your shirt to help guide your design between each line of text. Prep your Glitter Fabric Paint Markers according to instructions, then trace over/draw your design onto your shirt with your chosen colors. Once your design completely dries, it’s time to put on your shirt and go out and vote! And don’t forget to tag us on social @tulipcolorcrafts and show us what you’re making with Tulip Fabric Paint Markers!
How to Make a Halloween Wreath the Easy Way
Celebrate Halloween this year with spooktacular décor that’ll have your family screaming with delight! Craft Box Girls show you how to make a Halloween wreath the easy way with colorful fabrics, embroidery hoops and Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints. Get ready to have the most boo-tiful decorations on the block! What you need: - Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints in desired colors - Embroidery hoops - Aleene’s Fabric Fusion - Different fabrics and trims in Halloween colors - Pencil or chalk - Scissors - Chenille stems - Patterns (download from this post) Craft Box Girls will give you three different ideas on how to make a Halloween wreath using fabrics, embroidery hoops and Dimensional Paints. For this first quote art wreath, measure and cut the fabric so it’s slightly larger than the embroidery hoop. Glue trim onto the fabric. Craft Box Girls chose striped fabric for this wreath, and glued the trim along the striped lines. Secure the fabric between the top and bottom rings of the embroidery hoop, pulling the fabric taught as you secure it. Trim excess fabric from around the edges. Glue any fabric still remaining to the underside of the hoop. To transfer the “Double Double Toil and Trouble” pattern onto the fabric, first flip it over and use a pencil to color over the back side of the pattern. Once you’ve covered the back side of the pattern, flip it back over and center it on your fabric. Use your pencil to trace over the letters, applying enough pressure to lightly transfer the wording onto the fabric. Trace over the quote art on the fabric with your desired color of Tulip Dimensional Paint. Add any additional accent designs if desired, then let dry completely. For the BOO wreath, repeat the process of cutting your main fabric slightly larger than the embroidery hoop. Cut two pieces of ribbon that extend past the width of the embroidery hoop. Glue across the center of your fabric, then secure between the top and bottom hoops, making sure the fabric is taught. Cut off excess fabric. Print out the BOO pattern and flip it over so the back side is up. Use a pencil or chalk to color over the back side. Flip the BOO pattern back over and center it over the ribbon. Trace over the lettering, pressing firm enough to transfer the wording onto the ribbon. Use your chosen colors of Dimensional Paint to trace over BOO and the fabric designs as desired. Let dry completely. For the jack-o-lantern wreath, cut and secure your main fabric as noted in the steps above. Then glue trim around the circumference and let dry. Cut desired jack-o-lantern face shape from black felt or fabric, and glue in place centered on the wreath. Trace around facial features with Dimensional Paint and add eye accents as desired. Cut out a stem from felt, and coil chenille stems around your pencil to create curled vines. Glue everything in place at the top of the wreath, then let dry completely. Now that you know how to make a Halloween wreath in the easiest way, will you make just one? All three? Have fun getting festive for Halloween, and don’t forget to tag us on social @tulipcolorcrafts and let us know how you’re crafting with Tulip for Halloween.

How to Tie Dye Shoes in a Galaxy Pattern
Create the coolest pair of shoes in the universe without having to step out of your front door! Natalie from Doodlecraft shows you how to tie dye shoes in a colorfully fun galaxy pattern using Tulip One-Step Tie Dye. This DIY galaxy shoes tutorial is the easiest way to walk among the stars, so grab your tie dye and get ready to give your kicks a cosmic makeover. What you need: - Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye Kit of choice, plus Black (if not included in kit) - Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paint White - White canvas shoes - Stiff paintbrush or old toothbrush - Disposable plastic surface cover - Plastic grocery bags First cover your work surface with a disposable plastic surface cover to protect it from any potential dye spills. Remove the shoelaces and dampen each shoe. Mix your chosen One-Step Tie-Dye colors from your kit (as well as the black dye) according to instructions, then squeeze your dyes directly from the bottles randomly over each shoe. There is no special technique here; just experiment and have fun with it! Once you have added your colors onto each shoe, squeeze random splotches of black dye over the colors, allowing the dyes to blend and move. Place each shoe in a plastic grocery bag to keep damp and allow to process for the recommended time in your kit instructions. After the dye fully sets, rinse your shoes until the water runoff is clear, then wash and dry separately from other laundry. Working on a covered surface, dip your stuff brush or an old toothbrush into your white fabric paint and splatter over each shoe to your liking. Tip: It might be a little messy, but using your finger to help flick the brush bristles creates smaller paint splatters for cool star effects. After your DIY galaxy shoes completely dry, you are ready to re-lace them and launch your style into a cosmically cool new orbit. For the complete tutorial from Doodlecrafts on how to tie dye shoes for this awesome galaxy look, you can check out her post here.

At Tulip we celebrate donuts regularly (really, is there anything better than a doughy, frosted, sprinkled treat?!) and National Donut Day is just one more reason to indulge. Combine donuts with our love of crafting and it’s the perfect day! To celebrate this all-important holiday, we’ve put together a roundup of some of our favorite donut-themed DIYs made with Tulip Color Products. We hope the following projects help you get inspired to work up your creative appetite! Fun for decorating laptops, binders, windows and more, donut clings are easier to make than actual donuts using Tulip Dimensional Paints. To make your own clings, slide a donut pattern you can print from online into a plastic sheet protector, then trace over the designs with Dimensional Paint. If you mess up, you can simply wipe the paint off with a damp paper towel and start again. Once your clings are completely dry, it’s time to tack them onto your surface! The next best thing to eating a donut is wearing one! If you weren’t aware that you can tie dye a donut T-shirt, now you know. It’s super easy to do, and once you have your dyed donut shape, the only thing left to do is add sprinkles with Dimensional Paint! Get the full tutorial here on our Tie Dye Your Summer website. Quote Art Mother's Day Tote
Looking for Mother's Day gift ideas? How about a personalized tote bag made just for her? Moms - because they're moms and are pretty much always prepared - tend to sometimes need bigger bags for grocery shopping, carting around extra items for kids, family trips and more. A quote art tote bag personalized for your mom will bring a smile to her face every time she gets out her specially made tote for errands or everyday use. Scribble & Script shows you how to use Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint for an extra way to make your mom's new favorite bag stand out! What you need: - Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paints in desired colors - Tote bag - Cardboard or freezer paper to fit inside bag - Paper towels - Desired quote - Pencil/chalk pencil - Iron First iron any wrinkles out of the tote bag for a completely smooth painting surface. Insert a piece of cardboard or freezer paper (wax side up) inside of the tote bag to help prevent any paint from soaking through to the backside. (If using freezer paper, iron over the top layer of the bag to melt the wax for a temporary hold.) Once you have your selected quote, prep your Dimensional Paints by shaking and starting the flow on a paper towel. If you feel comfortable freehand creating the quote art on the tote, go ahead and get started! Or you can use a chalk pencil or a regular pencil to lightly write out the quote onto the front of the bag first, then trace over it with Dimensional Paint. After you're happy with your paint application, let the paint dry flat for several hours until completely dry. Once dry, remove the cardboard or freezer paper from inside of the bag. What a fun gift to give your mom for Mother's Day! She'll love showing this sweet quote art tote off everywhere she goes!

If you’re searching for a craft project that’s truly, truly outrageous, look no further. This DIY 80’s Inspired Denim Backpack, made by our friend Holly at Club Crafted, is totally rad and fully functional. Whether you’re a kid of the 80s or you’re hoping to make this for a sweet child of your own, this super easy project is one worth showing off. Trust us: you won’t want to put this baby in a corner. In addition to its obvious style, one of the best things about this project is it’s easy to the max. All you need is a denim backpack and your favorite colors of Tulip Dimensional Paint and you'll be ready to embark on a most excellent creative adventure. What you need: - Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint Pack - desired colors - Denim backpack So “Step One!” as the New Kids on the Block would say: lay your backpack out on flat surface. (Any New Kids fans in the house? Are we aging ourselves here?) If you want to put on an 80s playlist or John Hughes movie while you’re working, it isn’t required but is highly recommended to start channeling those 80s vibes. Draw abstract and geometric shapes by gently squeezing on the Dimensional Paint directly from the bottles. Feel free to practice on a paper towel or blank piece of paper before committing to the backpack if you’re nervous. Otherwise, take a chill pill and rest assured these 80s-inspired designs are super easy to create. Paint triangles, circles, squiggles, and zigzags in an assortment of bright colors. Don’t be afraid to overlap, either! Start with the flap of the backpack first, then when you’re satisfied with how that looks, move on to the rest of the backpack. After the flap is dry and set (if your bag has a flap), fold it upwards and continue using Dimensional Paint to create designs on the rest of the front and sides of your backpack. When finished decorating, let your awesome artwork dry completely. Once completely dry, load up your new backpack and geek out for a moment over how fresh, fly, and funky this DIY project turned out to be. Cool beans, dude!

DIY Tie Dye With Fabric Paint
Just because summer has come to a close doesn’t mean that you have to pack up all of the fun summer colors. Tie-dye clothing is a great way to carry sunny summer vibes with you into autumn in a stylish (and thrifty) way! Holly from Club Crafted shows you how to turn any of your favorite shirts into a DIY tie-dye masterpiece for an easy way to keep your fall full of fun, bright looks. The best part is that the only art supplies you’ll need are your favorite Tulip Soft Fabric Paint colors! What you need: Tulip Soft Fabric Paints - 4 to 5 colors of choice White shirt (cotton, pre-washed recommended) Squeeze bottles Water Rubber bands Plastic/rubber gloves First, you’ll need to get your Soft Paint colors mixed with water and ready to be used. (This technique requires you to water down the paints a bit.) Squeeze about 1-2 tablespoons of paint into an empty squeeze bottle. Fill the remainder of squeeze bottle with water and close the lid tightly and shake away! It’s important that the solution is mixed thoroughly for color application. Tip: you can test the diluted paint on a scrap fabric swatch to make sure it's properly mixed, or just do a visual check if your bottle is clear. Now it’s time to prep your shirt. This is where you can get a bit creative. The way that you lay out your white shirt will determine how your tie-dye pattern turns out. You can vertically pleat the shirt and fold in half as done here, or experiment with other tie-dye techniques. Now you’re almost ready to dye your shirt! Once rubber bands have been tightly placed on the shirt, wet the fabric and then ring it out to remove excess water. The shirt should just be damp. Don’t forget to put on your rubber gloves before dyeing the fabric and cover your surface with plastic to protect it from stains. Finally, you have the chance to get creative. Take your diluted fabric paints and go crazy! Squeeze your mixed fabric paints on the shirt where you wish to have color. Once the shirt has been completely colored, remove the rubber bands. Technically, your shirt is done once it’s completely dry! However, if you would like to achieve the above watercolor look, rinse lightly (colors will run) and allow your DIY tie dye shirt to dry completely. For more white sections and brighter colors, allow to dry completely and DO NOT rinse. And that’s just it! After less than 10 steps, you’re ready to take on the new season with fun rainbow colored vibes.
Easy Fabric Paint Thankful Shirt
Wear your gratitude as a fashion statement with this easy to make Thankful T-shirt! Thanksgiving isn't the only time of year that being grateful is in style; make a year-round statement with Tulip® ColorShot® Instant Fabric Color and a custom T-shirt you can DIY in an afternoon. But why stop at a T-shirt? You can totally add this design to tote bags and other fabric items for a great giftable this holiday season. What you need: - Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color (we used Green, Black and Gold) - White T-shirt - Freezer paper - Pattern in desired font - Cutting machine or pencil/craft knife - Iron - Painter’s tape - Scissors First choose your color palette for your design. We decided on black, green and gold. Next you'll want to wash and dry your shirt without fabric softener and iron it smooth. Cut a piece of freezer paper large enough to fit inside the shirt. Place freezer paper waxy side up inside of shirt and iron over the top of shirt to melt the wax and create a stable painting surface. This will also help color from soaking through to the back of shirt. Use a cutting machine to cut out design and wording from a piece of freezer paper (make sure the freezer paper is wax side down when you cut). If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can trace your design onto freezer paper and cut out with a craft knife. Place freezer paper stencil waxy side down on front of shirt and iron in place. Use painter’s tape to mask off sections of stencil that will be different colors to protect from overspray. Spray several light coats of first color over stencil openings, letting dry between coats. When you are happy with the coverage, let dry, then remove tape from other sections. Mask off painted section of stencil as well as any other section desired before spraying the second color. Repeat spray process. Repeat for the third color if using three colors. Let dry completely and remove freezer paper stencil. How fantastic is this Thankful tee?! Make one for yourself and the fam for holiday photos, festivities or just because.
Easy Painted Summer Sun Hat
Sunny days are here again! It's finally that time of year for taking activities outdoors and soaking up some sunshine (but not TOO MUCH - don't forget your sunscreen!). A sun hat is an outdoor essential and can also make a fashionable statement, whether you're beach side or brunching on the patio with friends. Since we wanted a tropical theme, we opted for a vibrant mix of colors. Use a marker that's similar in color to your hat for creating your design around the brim of the hat. If your hat is made from straw, you can even use a pencil to draw your design. Start painting over your sketched design. Tulip Soft Paints are super opaque and work over both light and dark fabrics - and each other! Don't be afraid to mix colors or use lighter colors over dark colors for accents and highlights. Once you've finished painting, let dry completely. Now you have a sun hat that's as fun as it is functional! Time to head outside if for no other reason than to show it off!

Read on to see how easy it was to make with Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color and Tulip Fabric Markers. No experience needed to make this pillow look like a pro busted it out! What you need: - Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color (desired colors) - Tulip Fabric Markers - White fabric pillow cover - Masking tape - Freezer paper - Iron - Posterboard - Pencil - Craft knife - Disposable plastic surface cover Make sure your pillow cover has been washed and dried (without fabric softener) for best results when applying ColorShot Fabric Spray Paint. Iron it smooth, then place a piece of freezer paper inside of the cover, waxy side up, and iron again over the top of the pillow cover. This will melt the wax and create a smooth, taught surface for adding your designs. Tape off the section you will be applying ColorShot to and cover over the section you do not want paint on to protect from overspray. In a well-ventilated area, spray a light coat of ColorShot (we used Neon Blue) onto the pillow cover. Let dry and repeat with several light coats until your desired amount of coverage has been achieved. Tip: several light coats work much better than one heavy coat, as with using any spray paint! Let dry and remove tape. Once your pillow cover has completely dried, it's ready for quote art! Create your own stencil from posterboard by creating the quote then cutting out the wording with a craft knife. Choose your marker palette (we went with a simple black marker but feel free to get as colorful with it as you like)! Place your stencil on top of the pillow cover and use a pencil to lightly trace the wording onto the fabric. Remove the stencil and color in the wording with a Fabric Marker. Let dry completely. Remove the freezer paper from inside of the pillow cover and add the pillow form.
DIY Hand-Painted Rug
Maybe you're frustrated because you haven't been able to find the perfect rug for your space, or maybe you're frustrated because you have found the perfect rug and it's a bazillion dollars! Before you tell yourself to suck it up and get out your credit card, close your eyes and hit the buy button, finish reading this post. Because you can actually hand paint your own colorful masterpiece for the floor with Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paints for super cheap - we'll show you just how easy it is! What you need: - Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paints in colors of choice - Jute rug - Ruler or yard stick - Paper towels - Paintbrushes - Small plastic cups - 1" painter's tape First choose your color palette - this is probably the most difficult part! If you aready have a color scheme going in the room where you need a rug, that makes it easy. We went with vibrant rainbow colors since our rug is for our craft room and here at Tulip, "color" is basically our middle name. For this project you really only need a few supplies that you probably already have at home, and if you don't, you can pick them up for super cheap. We chose a jute rug because we thought the material was perfect for our space, but Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paints work on most fabrics, so if you're going for a rug made from softer materials, that's totally fine too! Use painter's tape to mask off your design. To achieve straight lines, using a straight edge like a ruler or yard stick as a guide helps if your design is linear like ours. You could definitely create more geometric designs with your tape or skip the tape altogether and free hand paint your designs! Once your design is masked off, it's time to start painting! You can pour your paints into plastic cups for easy access, or a paper plate or paint palette if you have one. Brush on as many coats (letting dry in between) until your desired opacity is achieved. We just threw this picture in because it's fun and pretty! Once your designs have dried, remove the tape. Your new rug is ready to be the center of attention!
Tulip Color Story Health and Wellbeing
Here at Tulip, we decided to kick off the year focused on health & wellbeing since it's such an integral part of all of our lives, no matter our age, profession or gender. And whether some of us are focused on major lifestyle changes or a simpler goal of drinking more water or taking more walks, we truly believe that a healthier life - whatever that means to each of us - leads to a happier life! So we came up with easy, affordable DIYs using Tulip color products that are focused on upping our health game (with the added bonus of exercising our creative muscles) and making something personal that hopefully motivates us on our individual health & wellbeing journeys. Check out our roundup and get inspired! What you need: - Tulip Fabric Paints - Tulip Fabric Markers - Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color A sense of humor goes a long way, and a gym bag is no exception! Besides, some of us around here work out just so we can eat more pizza. (Don't judge us.) Add your own flavor (see what we did there) with Tulip Graffiti Fabric Markers and fun quote art. PS. It's totally acceptable to order a pizza to help get you inspired for this project - just sayin. Here's another project you can get pumped about - literally! Splatter paint a set of neoprene weights with Tulip Soft Paint for workout equipment that's as artistic as it is functional. Go for a run in style with a set of custom kicks all of your workout buddies will be super jelly over. Think they're hard to paint? Think again! If you're like us, it's time to take the guess work out of dress work and hit the gym in style and with a sense of humor! It's super easy to DIY your own quote art workout tank with Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color. Sometimes we have to put our extra cup of coffee down and pick up a water bottle. Or at least have coffee in one hand and water in the other (some of us are fond of this hydration technique in the Tulip office). Having a water tracker bottle you can cart around all day is a fantastic way to help remind you to stay hydrated with your daily water intake needs. Turn a basic one into your new BFF with Tulip Dimensional Paints. Lastly, let's talk about food. Don't say UGGGHHH. It's actually important and this time we aren't talking about pizza. (But we want to if we're being honest.) It can actually be pretty tough to track your balance of carbs, proteins, veggies and fruits when you're on a strict diet, so portion control containers come in really handy. See how easy it is to make your own with Scribbles 3D Paints!
3D Paint Water Tracker Bottle
Staying hydrated is one of the most important things we can do for our bodies, and sometimes that can be a challenge if we spend a lot of time on the go, we work out a lot, or if we're addicted to drinking anything BUT water (more coffee, anyone?). A water tracker bottle you can haul around with you all day is one way to make it easier to get your daily intake of water - and the right amount too! Sure, you could buy one, but since we're fans of DIYing things around here, we think you should make your own instead. All you need is a simple water bottle and Tulip Dimensional Paint; read on to check out our version, then get inspired to make yours! What you need: - Tulip® Dimensional Paint Pack - desired color theme - Plastic water bottle - Word pattern printed in desired font - Paper towels - Tape First choose paint colors that will make you extra thirsty. Just kidding - just pick ones you love! Create a word pattern that's sized to fit your water bottle (not too big, not too small), then roll it enough to fit inside the bottle to use for tracing. Test your paints on a paper towel to get a feel for them before using on your bottle. To create a super fine tip for wording, try wrapping a piece of tape around the paint bottle tip in a cone shape, leaving a very small hole for the paint to travel through. This will funnel the paint flow into a more narrow line. Trace over the wording with Dimensional Paint. You can either move from top to bottom or bottom to top, which ever way you feel more comfortable. If you mess up, don't stress! You can easily wipe away the paint with a damp paper towel and start over while it is still wet. Once you've finished the wording, let the paint dry completely. Use the other paint colors to create fun squiggles between each set of words for tracking water levels. Let dry completely. Once dry, your new water tracker bottle is ready to help keep you hydrated! It's important to note that while Tulip Paints are nontoxic, we recommend not applying any paint near the mouth of the bottle where you'll be drinking from. Hand wash only and air dry.
