Add color to your fabrics with Tulip Fabric Dye Pods! This easy-to-use Fabric Dye Pod can dye up to 21 ounces of dry fabric (approximately 4 adult large T-shirts) to the full shade — just pre-dissolve the dye and add to the wash with salt for all over, even coverage! Note: Project count will vary based on size of garment and amount of dye used. Dyes will appear darker on damp fabric prior to washing and will naturally lighten after laundering. Works best on 100% cotton, linen, ramie and rayon; wool, silk and polyester/cotton mixes will dye to lighter shades. Use multiple dye pods for more saturated color. Recommended for use with High Efficiency washing machines only. Includes 1 (12.3 oz) Macaron (periwinkle) Fabric Dye Pod.

How to Use
  1. Pour 4 cups of hot water into a medium sized pitcher.
  2. Add contents of dye pod to water, and stir until completely dissolved (about 3-5 minutes)
  3. Add dampened fabric to washer, then pour 1.5 cups salt (undissolved) on top of fabric.
  4. Pour pre-dissolved dye mixture into receptacle on washer. After pouring dye mixture, pour in another 4 cups of hot water to flush out receptacle.
  5. Select the 2-hour wash cycle option with hot water or bacteria/mite removal setting
  6. When cycle is complete, add washing detergent and run another cycle (normal wash cycle, room temperature water).
  7. Remove fabric, add detergent, and run empty cycle to remove any remaining traces of dye.
  8. Lay fabric flat to dry.
FAQ & Pro Tips
  • Recommended for use with High Efficiency washing machines only. Regular washers will result in pastel shades.
  • Weigh dry fabric to ensure you have sufficient dye for desired effect
  • Do not scrunch projects; place unfolded fabric in washer with dye pod placed on top (do not pour powder out).
  • Wear protective gloves while handling dye
  • Use multiple dye pods for more saturated color
  • When using multiple pods, empty the dye powder from the bottles into the drum. Add damp unfolded fabric and continue from step 5 of usage instruction. Only use a maximum of 5 pods at once.
  • Only dye up to half of machine’s maximum load to avoid patchy results.
  • After dyeing, wash separately or with similar colors for first few washes.
  • Should any dye remain in the machine, run another empty cycle with detergent and half cup of household bleach in the drum.
  • Dry fabric away from direct heat and sunlight
