How To Spray Paint Ceramics with COLORSHOT

How To Spray Paint Ceramics with COLORSHOT

Spray paint is a quick and easy way to give items a whole new look without spending a ton of money or effort. If you're wondering how to spray paint ceramic items to get the best results, we have some super simple tips for you using COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint for head-turning color that lasts. What you need: - COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used Emoji) - Ceramic item - Drop cloth or protective plastic covering - Painter's tape (optional) Make sure your item is clean and free of any dust. To create a cool geometric design like we did, try using painter's tape to mask off your shape. You'll want to cover over any part of the item that you aren't painting to protect from overspray. (We like using heavy paper or plastic or even more tape.) Spray several light coats of color versus one heavy coat, letting dry between coats. Tip: Shake the can of spray paint vigorously for at least 1 minute before beginning to apply color, then continuously shake the can while applying color for best results. When you are happy with your coverage, remove the tape and let dry completely. COLORSHOT works permanently on a variety of surfaces, so feel free to go a little (or a lot - we vote for a LOT) crazy with color on your projects! What will you paint with COLORSHOT?!

What you need: COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint – desired colors - Golf cart (obviously) - Tools to remove parts/portions of cart - Plastic covering - Painter’s tape - Drop cloth to cover work areaWash golf cart before starting First things first! Before getting started on your golf cart makeover, remove any cushions and other parts you don’t want to get wet when you wash down your cart. After washing, air dry or dry with a lint-free towel. Block off sections of cart to protect from paint Next remove any portions you don’t want painted, or painted another color (if you can). You can also cover sections with plastic wrap and tape to block off until you are ready to paint that section or just to protect it from paint in general. Spray cart with several light coats Now the fun part! Shake and prep your spray paint according to instructions, then spray your golf cart with several light coats, letting dry in between coats. Light coats are always better than one heavy coat to avoid drips and paint running. Spray paint floor of golf cart You can paint your entire cart all one color, or get creative like Lolly Jane and paint different sections different colors. Spray paint inside the cart If you’ll be spray painting inside your cart like Lolly Jane, make sure you cover and tape all sections you don’t want painted to prevent accidental overspray. The great thing about COLORSHOT is that it dries to the touch in 10 minutes, so your prep work will probably take you longer than the paint process. (It’ll be worth it though!) Marbling Spray Paint Art Technique

Marbling Spray Paint Art Technique

Most people probably think of paint pouring techniques when creating marbling art, but did you know you can actually use spray paint as well? Artist Stacie England got innovative with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints and a blowdryer to create some seriously awesome canvas art ... and she's letting us all in on how she did it! Check out this tutorial and get inspired to create your own abstract marbling spray paint art with COLORSHOT. Begin by spraying abstract swatches of your base colors. They can be any colors you like! Normally we tell you to spray light coats, but this time, don't be afraid to lay it on thick. You want enough paint on the canvas to be able to move and shift around. Continue spraying pools of different colors over one another. Add a bright contrasting color over the others in any shape you like. Mist a darker color like Little Black Dress over the top, allowing some of the other colors to show through. This darker shade will add depth later as you marble the colors. Contrast with a lighter color in sections. Add another large pool of another contrasting color over part of the canvas. Once you have enough layers of wet paint on the canvas, grab your blowdryer and start blowing the color around the canvas until you're happy with how the colors have shifted. For added interest, try using a palette knife to carve designs into the wet paint. Tilt and shift the canvas around one last time to create a little extra movement. Once you're happy with the effect, let it dry completely. repeat on other canvases to create an entire set! We love how this marbling spray paint set turned out, don't you?! Here's another variation Stacie created in a different palette without the carved designs. We don't know about you, but we're feeling super inspired to start making some spray paint art!
