Beautiful Dyed Flower Bouquet

Beautiful Dyed Flower Bouquet

Fresh flowers are always nice, but they have a tendency to wilt and fade— losing all of those gorgeous natural colors that we all love so much! What if we told you there’s a way to have a bouquet of REAL flowers that never lose their color? It’s not a trick, it’s Tulip Fabric Dye! This easy tutorial from Oh Yay Studio will show you how to turn your dried florals and foliage into an ultra-colorful dyed flower arrangement! What you need: Tulip Permanent Fabric Dye COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints Dried foliage and florals Cookie sheet and wire rack Spray bottle Drop cloth Salt Water Choose which colors you will be using for this project! Use COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints on the more “solid” foliage, such as leaves, twigs, branches, and other sturdy foliage. While your salt water solution is cooling, prepare your foliage and sort them into what will be dyed and what will be sprayed. Lay your foliage onto a cookie sheet/wire rack combo to catch excess dye. To make dyed flowers, lightly spray with salt water then sprinkle dye onto them. Don’t let the dye clump—a light coat of dye will do the trick! Spray with a little more salt water and allow to dry fully flat. Repeat for the other side of the foliage. If you accidentally apply too much dye, you may need to brush off or wipe away the excess. To spray paint your foliage, lay them out in a well-ventilated area with a drop cloth to catch any overspray and begin spraying each piece with your desired colors in slow, even strokes. Allow to dry, and repeat on the other side. Once all of your foliage is completely dried, it’s time to put them on display! Pick out a nice vase and have fun with the floral arrangement process. DIY Felt Flower Garland

Bring the summer indoors with this homemade floral garland, perfect for brightening up your Sunday brunch, family BBQ or just giving your living space a little life. It’s a fun project and couldn’t be easier to make! All you’ll need is Aleene’s Quick Dry Fabric Fusion, felt, a jute cord and some common crafting tools you probably already have. The best thing about these flowers? You can reuse them every spring and summer; they’re never going to wilt or go bad! What you need: - Aleene's Quick Dry Fabric Fusion- Jute cord- Felt - desired colors for flowers and leaves- Cardstock- Pencil- Scissors- Optional: Clothespins Draw a leaf and four petals descending in size onto card stock. Cut out to create patterns. Choose whichever color felt you’d like for your flowers. Use your cardstock petals as templates and cut 4 of each size in the felt. You will use all 4 of each size (layered) to create one flower. Cut as many petals as needed for the amount of flowers you plan on creating. Repeat for leaves, cutting 3 leaf shapes per flower. Make a cut (about a half inch) at the bottom center of each petal. Repeat for leaves. Place a dot of Quick Dry Fabric Fusion on one side of the cut at the bottom of the felt petal. Pull the felt on the other side of the cut over the top of the dot of glue (backside over front) and press in place. This creates dimension for each petal so they don't lay flat when layered together for the flowers. Repeat for leaves. Add a dot of glue to the bottom of a large petal and press another large petal in place over the top, rotating the petal to the left or right so it isn't directly on top of the base petal. Add a dot of glue on top of the petal you just stacked onto the base petal and press another large petal in place, rotating in the same direction. Repeat process until your flower base is formed. Continue adding glue and layering petals in a circle, moving from largest petals to smallest for the top layer. Note: You might not need to use all petals when creating your flowers. Do what works best for you! Measure out a strand of jute cord so it's long enough to hang in your desired space. Starting how ever many inches in from the end as desired, begin gluing the felt leaves to the cord with the flower on top. Tip: hold in place with clothespins for a secure hold while drying. Continue gluing as many flowers and leaves as desired, evenly spacing along the cord. Let dry completely. Now your flower garland is ready to bloom with creativity year round!

Floral Puffy Paint Easter Eggs

Floral Puffy Paint Easter Eggs

Here comes Peter Cottontail. He is hopping down the bunny trail. Is your house ready? Do you have those eggs decorated for your kids pre-school class? Do you need a craft for Sunday school? Grab some plastic eggs and Puffy Paint Writers and let' make some Easter crafts. SUPPLIES – Puffy Paint Writers – Yarn – Plastic Easter eggs – Scissors Puffy Paint Writers are by far one of my favorite craft tools. I love them on beads, milk jugs, Easter eggs and more. It is so easy to add polka dots or flowers to any project. I make my flowers with 3 colors. I start with a single color dot for the center. After my center dot is in place I go around the center making more dots with another color Puffy Paint Writer. Lastly, I make a tear drop shape for a leaf. Allow your paint dots to dry completely. Display your eggs in a bowl, in an Easter basket, on a wreath or close the plastic eggs over some yarn for a super easy banner.
